We banned Ana Zen Sombra Zaria
It means we will play against SojornMercy PharaMercy Widow etc
We banned Mercy Ana Zaria Sojorn
Then play against Widow Sombra Zen etc
I mean it doesn’t matter what heroes you ban, there are too many broken heroes in Overwatch, it just doesn’t solve anything at all
Just out of curiousity how many bans do you need? Just curious.

Honestly I just want to play 5v5 openQ again where it was 3 tank-2sup meta without any dps heroes. Where Mercy is just a support, where there is no problem with Ana Zen, and Zaria had only 400 hp
5v5 rolq and 6v6 max 2 tanks are awful and unplayable for tanks players now

Ban half the roster at that point

I mean in terms of “balance” I’ve been saying they won’t do much….as youre describing there’s, always going to be a heirarchy of stuff that would get played if certain things always get banned….whether that be meta or just highly unpopular picks
Because physical bans aren’t all that different from the defacto bans that occur every time there’s a balance patch…the community always establishes what they think is best given the current balance state
Jeff wasnt inventing a term way back when he was describing a “ban meta”

It’s not going higher than what it currently is. If they even increase it would be 6?
You’re basically highlighting that OW is not a game built for bans. Each character is unique and has certain advantages or disadvantages based on what your enemy team is.
You ban one and another becomes more powerful, and the cycle goes on.
Devs just need to balance the game and not hide the awful balance behind bans

Just play a different game.

he probably wants a 10 ban system.
in time they can implement this too, but now it’s too early for that.
I only need one and you know exactly who it is for.
or you could not ban zen and sombra because they’re not the problem whereas widow and sojourn are, with pharah being a problem on specific maps?
Idk, you’re kind of proving the point that bans not only aren’t the solution but aren’t even being used the way they’re intended, but instead for pettiness.

So here’s an idea:
Don’t ban characters like Mercy, Sombra or Zen, and ban actual problems like Sojourn or Ana instead.

At some point one needs to learn how to play against certain heroes
It’s about time you do that.
Banning everything just to play that 1 stupid hero you don’t know how to cope without isn’t the solution.

Everything is a problem when skill is an issue at base.

Yeah, some more ban slots would be a good idea.
Role ban can also create new contents, but in this case, a new game mode without X role can be better than vote. We could play goats in the goats classic event for example when there was another game mode where dps are banned.
This is exactly why I personally didn’t want bans. Because “I still have to adapt to this even though that is gone?” seems to happen anyways.
And if you just keep banning the same thing you get used to that thing not existing. So you get worse at playing against it. Making the gap bigger. See how that can be a problem?

Ban them! BAN THEM ALL!!!

That is false. Thanks for bans, I never need to learn how to play against “certain” heroes.

You’re absolutely right. Let’s ban all of the heroes and sit in the lobby and chat with each other. But on the other hand, it just forces everyone in the lobby to play specific comps and you’ll run into the same problems as before just with less freedom to adapt to it.
Of course we can all just say that it’s a “skill issue” or whatever. Ultimately, I think they make the game less fun to play.
