Backfill DEFEAT

I don’t want to join a game and have defeat flash across my screen before I can even select a character! Then have everyone leave and join the queue again!!

it’s frustrating but at the same time it’s only quickplay, you don’t lose anything from it.

yes you do. it makes you feel like you lost a game that you haven’t played and it happens so often too

But you get exp.

500 I believe.

MM can’t tell how winnable the match is for backfill. I’ve had games with an instant defeat screen, and games where I backfill into overtime to help push the next 2 checkpoints for a win.

On the positive side you get the consecutive match bonus for free, in addition to low-effort backfill XP of course.

yay i get to feel miserable and earn 500 xp yay

Lol you don’t have to.

If you’re sensitive enough to let a defeat screen from a game you didn’t have a hand in bother you that much idk what to say.

It’s like getting a defective computer component from the store. It feels bad, but you get another one right after.

Stop leaving games…

It’s one of those things we all have to take turns doing. The ending of games isn’t predictable. There’s no way to prevent it, just bite the bullet. :frowning:

“Just quickplay bro”
“Free xp”
“Git gud”
How about waste of time? Maybe someone doesn’t want to wait 1-2 minutes for a queue, only to lose and repeat the process. Stop defending the comepletly broken backfill system, because muh free xp.

well its god damn simple, the guy left so he wont be punished by watching the defeat screen, so I get to watch it instead.
It’s like you’re getting a parking ticket because the guy next to you had parked over a handicapped spot when he shouldn’t have, while the guy writing the ticket was to busy texting his friend, to pay attention and place it on the right car.

i know that feel. the punishment for leavers, especially late leavers needs to be increased. the people that frequently rage quit games at the last moment ruin the game for everyone else. its only fair that they should be punished.

The guy who left is not getting EXP from the match. No lootbox progress. He get’s NOTHING. You get a little bit for showing up to see the end. Plus he also potentially will suffer an exp reduction penalty for leaving.

How is this in anyway like “getting a parking ticket” over someone else’s mistake? If anything it’s like they’re the ones still getting the parking ticket but you’re handed a bit of the fee they’re forced to pay. Nice try, though.

every friggen fps game ever made does it, but in those, the leavers still gain level progress. At LEAST Overwatch tries it’s best to actively discourage people from not finishing their games. Other FPS games don’t seem to really give a damn.

Backfilling an instant loss game happens so rarely that those 1-2 minutes are hardly worth complaining about.

I had it happen to me 4 times in a row yesterday, and it happens at least once a day.

4 times in a row is an obvious anomaly. If you experience it once a day i imagine you play enough for those 1-2 minutes to be hardly worth complaining about as it’s statistically impossible for it to be otherwise.

There may be those 1% outlier situations, but everyone who solo queues Quickplay/Arcade is going to experience it equally and that’s the fairest it can be. It’s borderline petty to complain about.

Un-clench your underoo’s and queue again. It’s nothing personal towards you as it happens to all of us.
