Ayo are they really nerfing genji?!?!?!

Apparantly they’re nerfing “mobile” heroes down to 225 and it shows a shot of genji with 225hp.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
we did it bois. tracer/pharmercy/echo/widow/ashe all decimating all levels of play and the character that gets nerfed again is green cyborg ninja dude.
Rip he also has the ugliest skin out of all the ones revealed in the new bp.

I like how dva gets a yakuza type skin before genji does lmao. The dev team is a joke but who cares atleast we got another kiri skin amirite.

This patch is essentially them nerfing all the fun heroes such as Genji, Lucio, Kiriko, Juno, Echo, and Tracer. The only mobile hero that needed a health decrease was Sombra IMO.

Annnnd even more reason for me to stay away from dps heros.

Thank Christ I play tank.

Where do you see these patch notes?

The devs always buff or nerf heroes that need it, so if he’s underperforming after the nerf they’ll buff him.

I for one am glad they’re establishing what it means to have the default hp amount (250 currently), as it allows not only those heroes at 250 to stand out more but it also allows the heroes with more or less have better focus on what they do. I can see Genji becoming more lethal because of this change in mentality.

I don’t know about Genji specifically going down to 225 HP, but I’m guessing people are talking about this:

Hero Balance Updates

We also have new incoming hero balance changes to shake things up for Season 12. We have been seeing a lot of mobile heroes become favorite go-to picks and have a huge advantage in the current state of the game, so we’re doing a pass to reduce the health on multiple Damage and Support heroes. Lifeweaver is also getting notable updates to improve the quality of the Petal Platform and how it can be counter-played, along with changes to Healing Blossom and Rejuvenating Dash. Look for these updates in our patch notes coming later next week.

From this blog:

We saw Juno with 225 HP in the recent dev video, too.

You can’t talk about hp without considering the hitbox and get-out-jail-free-card. Genji, a character with one of the best defensive ability, three mobility options (double jump, wall climb, dash that can reset on elim), a small hitbox and a extremely volatile strafing animation, everything in his kit is literally trying to deny or throw off opponent’s aim. 25 hp nerf is long due if you ask me.

Technically true… however… sometimes it will take multiple months or seasons to do so.

So maybe don’t use that as some sort of alleviating factor.

A straight line making him one of the easiest heroes in the game to land a shot on. These do not count as evasive abilities in terms of making people miss you

Are you talking about her bunny girl skin? That’s not very Yakuza…

This will mean EVEN MORE importance on tank diffs…

Don’t really think this is a good idea…sorta like the global season 9 changes and then the massive tank buffs

I thought it was a bioshock-ish deal?

Like post apocalyptic weird theme gang. But… since we got “dorothy” maybe it’s some sort of Oz theme… though I don’t remember a whole lot of rabbit in that… or … what looks like a jeep??

One simply does not mention Echo. Echo is balanced. Her ult is weak. Nothing to see here. Just look at this red light. Forget everything about Echo.

Overwatch has no movement acceleration, so you are completely in control over your horizontal movement during double jump. Also why would the option to double jump and wall climb make genji “easier to land shots on” than the hero who cannot double jump or wall climb?

Thank God. Mercy is finallt getting nerfed.

Not the nerf I wanted. But it’ll do.

If you played Genji for even a second you would know he moves nowhere near as fast in the air to prevent the exact thing you just stated. That would be crazy lol

double jump and wallclimb are designed to be mobility tools to get around the map not used to evade gunfire and that’s why he’s easier to hit when using double jump or wallclimb as a trade off.
Could you imagine if Genji’s wallclimb could strafe

Genji and Widow are two of the most miserable heroes in the game. Idk why people keep playing them. Btw Juno is coming. Good luck to kill her!

Juno’s going to have 225 HP, and even in the trial where she had 250 HP, she was easy pickings for flankers. I don’t think people will need much luck to kill her.

I actually don’t know. I just saw her flying, and she has a speedboost. It’s hard to deal with flying characters for Genji.

That’s fair enough.

The thing about Juno is that she doesn’t have true flight. She can just turn off gravity for a bit and sort of glide along in the air in a straight line. She’s got a double jump but flankers still mulched her if left alone. Outside of a cooldown that did… uh… was it 50 or 75 damage?.. she’s stuck at ~107 DPS without any great escape or defensive tools. She can’t headshot so she’s stuck with bodyshot damage.

Juno does have a speedboost, but it’s on something like a 15s cooldown and only delays the inevitable. Against Tracer, it doesn’t even do that, really. Tracer completely wrecked her from what I saw.

If you’re worried about some sort of Super Mercy that can zip around the earth every second, you’ve got no need to unless they drastically boost Juno’s numbers on release. (Which is always possible.)
