Why only 2 players can be avoided when there is hundreds of throwers? This is a big joke! I play a lot and I feel like +10 players per day should be avoided but I can’t or I take a risk and remove past avoids.
Please change this to unlimited or atleast 100 players avoids. I might quit whole game because of throwers…
You might have to quit then. What you want to do would completely screw up the system’s ability to create matches.
You’re asking for something that you think would make the game more enjoyable for you without thinking of what it would do to everyone.
I’d rather wait 5mins for a nice team than getting match in 1min and get troll game. If I could avoid 100 players it doesn’t mean I couldn’t get a match anymore.
If you could avoid 100 players, its only fair EVERYONE can avoid 100 players. which means a lobby can avoid up to 1200 players. That would kill queue times, and make the matchmaker pair you with people far lower/higher than you, making 100% randomized non-competitive games
It just doesn’t logically work.
I also highly doubt you’re coming across that many throwers. I’ve played 44 matches so far this season. only had 1 thrower. That’s a total of about 484~ players who were not throwers (11 x 44 instead of 12 x 44 to account for potential duplicate players)
Unless of course, you’re describing “playing a hero I don’t like, or not joining voice chat, or simply not playing well enough” to be “throwing”, which it is obviously not.
I’d happily endure a 20 minute queue if it meant I never had to play with the usual throwers/griefers we see in match after match on console, going seemingly unpunished for their flaunting of the rules.
Just tonight had a known Mei griefer on my team for a comp match. Have encountered them many times previously and reported them each time for their throwing & griefing. Of course, they did it again tonight, and of course, I reported them (again) and avoided them, but the avoid only lasts a week and I can only avoid 2 such people. This person will still be griefing games in a week’s time, so the week duration just isn’t long enough.
We need to be able to avoid more than a paltry 2, and the avoid needs to be permanent, not a week.
I think the avoiding as teammate feature isn’t supposed to be used to block every people you think are Toxic. It is more of a tool to make sure you do NOT get in the same team of at least 2 people in the next game.
A lot of time i had toxic player, when the game end i had the bad habit to look for another game right after the defeat screen, most of the time i would end up with the same Toxic people because they did the same.
With this feature you are sure to NEVER get in their team for the next match.
2 slot isn’t that much, i think 3 or 4 would be better but no matter what you do, blocking a Toxic player is only possible if you meet them in the first place anyway… You could have infinite slot and yet keep meeting Toxic people over and over because you have no luck.
I would really question that. You understand that it means at best 2 games in one hour right ? 20mn is very, very long. Even if YOU are, I believe the huge majority of players don’t. it would just kill the game.
Blizz said they will increase the number of avoid slots if it doesn’t impact queue times. They also announced incoming measures against toxic players, so let’s have a bit of patience.
or they could actually have someone read the reports that get sent in , and ban toxic players thus removing the need to expand the avoid list.
It would be cool to have two ranked modes one with rules on communication, team work and comp , and one for the people that want to grind gold weapons.
Ok I say this often in life so I’m going to say it here. If a couple of people you meet are jerks, chances are they’re probably objectively jerks. If 100 people you meet are jerks, then you’re the jerk. The problem is with you not with the 100 people.
Learn to raise your threshold for bad team behavior and work with people you don’t like. Avoid them only if they are completely toxic or truly impossible to work with. You’ll have to do it in the real world too, might as well practice here.
Just the other night I had a known Mei griefer on my team. I hadn’t had the misfortune to encounter them in comp for a few weeks prior to then.
It’s why the duration of the avoid needs to be permanent. When I put someone like that on avoid, I want to never play with them again. A week is just nowhere near long enough.
look nobody is saying the system is perfect but come on… there has to be a balance. In development of a system like this they have to be very careful implementing the avoid option otherwise the matchmaking could completely break.
Also you should not be letting one game ruin your gaming session for the night/ Walk away for 5min after a game like that and clear your head.
just thought of something…some of those avoids would be duplicates. If you think about it, the tryhards will avoid the trolls and the trolls will avoid the tryhards. my guess is the lobby would effectively ban 1050 players not 1200.
It’s only bad if you put two people on it and then that’s that. Use a rotation , someone played poorly/no communication or playing ineffective heroes , throw them on just so you don’t get stuck with them next game.
I’ve used it quite a bit Like this and it’s helped me avoid long losing streaks where I’d get stuck with a player with poor teamwork where prior to the feature I’d be stuck with them 3+ games in a row .
Bonus points if the avoided player is on the enemy team next game instead #proft
You’re not doing the math right you’re still thinking selfishly. It’s the number of people you have times 6 for your time and that number times six again for the enemy team. if you have a hundred players blocked thats 600 potential teams that the game can’t use, now combine that with the fact that the game is trying to balance both teams out.
Also the more you rank up the longer these additional wait times would be.
For me throwing is also people who can’t fill and picks 4-5 dps and won’t even switch when its not working. I don’t want to play with players like that.
