Avoid as Teammate was a good start, but we need Avoid Player.

I’m sick of running into the same GMs on their Platinum smurfs and XIMmers in match after match after match on Xbox.

Reporting system does nothing except punish those who don’t deserve it due to the toxic masses abusing the system.

Blizzard, you’re supposedly all about giving players more choice so that they can play the game their way, so give us the option to avoid cheaters like this.

Expand the Avoid as Teammate idea to be Avoid Player and give us the option to avoid more than a paltry 2 and for more than a week (because you can bet that, a week later, the people you avoided will be doing the exact same thing that made you avoid them in the first place!). It needs to be permanent!

That doesn’t avoid a player in in-game matchmaking.

It merely stops them sending you messages/invites.

This was abused before, and unless they put some sort of limitation on it like they did with teammate, it would be abused again.

I know it was on PC before, but we’ve never had that functionality on Xbox.

No doubt it will be abused, because people are people, so obviously restrictions would need to be put in place.

But Blizzard need to do something.

Either deal with the smurfs and XIMmers once and for all (because both are cheating, per the game’s reporting system as unfair advantage), or give us the tools we need to be able to avoid these types of players.

stop focusing on smurf, they are not such a big problem.but i do agree on the avoid player option, if i see someone throwing on the other team i do not want them on mine in the next games, and it has happened

You obviously don’t play on consoles.

Smurfing is a huge problem there because smurf accounts are free to make. No need to purchase another copy of the game.

This is one of those things thats completely different on console than pc.

It doesnt seem unreasonable since players can make multiple accounts on console that their 2 slots should full avoid an account rather than just one name on an account.

Now seriously, that doesn’t solve it.if a smurf sees that he gets 30 min waiting time then he will just make another smurf and you will have to avoid him again.plus if smurfs are such a big problem avoiding 2 won’t even make a dent and avoiding more people could lead to other problems.the problem is obviously the ease with which you can create new acounts

A nice idea, but 2 is still nowhere near enough, especially since it only lasts a week as well.

There’s an absolute plague of smurfs on console. Being only able to avoid 2 is like a drop in the ocean.

They would need to drastically increase the number you can avoid and make the duration permanent for it to have any real worth.

As I said above, it’s a drop in the toxic ocean that is Competitive Overwatch.

Alt accounts sure but legit gm smurfs very rare. Its a simple function of population. There are not enough GMs to go around. Your in low plat just above the average of the bell curve. Statistically the odds of you seeing 1 gm smurf is 1 in a 100 games. Now avoid player wont avoid them as an opponent but simply as a teammate. And if you insta queue after a match it tends to keep the same pool of playera for 3 matches.

If you some how miraculously run into a GM smurf. Dont instaqueue wait 5min and queue again problem solved. Now if you think low plat has a significant population of smurfs even on console then you cant tell the difference between someone popping off and being a smurf.

Most masters i know who smurf dont stay below diamond for very long due to mmr. Once their account reaches diamond they generally just stop playing on it.

No thanks, I will have hard time finding a match. Blizzard already notified me on the main menu twice since that option was implemented.

Smurfing is disgraceful. You take advantage of people who aren’t as competent as you in any way, shape or form. Don’t try to back up smurfing either.

i like playing against smurfs, it a humbling experience.none of that “i should be at a higher rank” mentality for a few games.and i’m not defending them, they are free to do as they please with the acount they paid for, you guys just need to stop atacking them so much
