Avoid map as a feature

I’m sick of playing Horizon/Junkertown and blizzzworld nearly 90% of my matches seriously those maps are HORRIBLE DESIGNED, NOBODY LOVES THEM, specially in Competitive, the holy trinity of garbage maps.

That will increase queue times for everyone and further destabilize the matchmaker.

I respectfully disagree with you sir or madame

Specially in competitive where both teams runs the same bastion comp right? so much fun and skill involved!.

If you can’t think of a good bastion counter that’s not the map’s fault.

I mean just flanking behind as Tracer and pulse bombing the Bastion can kill him currently. Or hacking him behind as Sombra. Or Anti them with Ana. Or do anything to break down the shield.

It would be abused, and frankly it’s unfair. Someone could choose NOT to avoid and be at a certain sr while someone else could be higher because they avoided their Worst maps while experiencing their best maps more.

Also Anubis is my favorite map and I would never get to play it again if that were to happen.

I support this idea, but only in quickplay. In competitive it could be abused as a way to get maps in which you’re better at and rank up easier.

That’s another point, people would avoid all maps their mains aren’t good on, which would actually decrease the total amount of skill required in the game.

Damn straight. Anubis and Hanamura would be added right to my blacklisted maps. I’m pretty happy with just about any other map… but I really hate attacking on these two.

It could probably work. I know that when I played Wow, there was an option to avoid specific battlegrounds in PVP.

also eichenwalde i hateee this map

Thank you for posting! I have thought about this too! There are days where I play a certain map and it is LOSS after LOSS. I am just like “well here is horizon, I can leave the match right now, CLICK EXIT”. I would say that somedays it happen too much. Today it’s HORIZON. I’ve had horizon so much today that I am absolutely SICK of it. The other day it was CONSTANTLY Numbani.

I think a SUBTLE “avoid map” feature for Quickplay ONLY would be fair. With it being something you can only have for 24 hours. Horizon and Blizzard world being the MOST annoying maps in the game. Both maps are AWFUL for attackers. If they would offer two ways around those choke points, it would be different. plus I think it would teach NEW skills. Flank and how to AVOID being attacked from behind.

As widow, I learned early in the games of snipers, that FLANKING is the win. As long as you can take a cheep shot on someone that IS NOT looking at you. It’s the way to play.

Everyone just ignoring the fact that this would increase queue times, because it’s adding an additional factor for the matchmaker, and it would further destabilize the fairness of matches because because the matchmaker wouldn’t have as many players to choose from for each match.

This entirely depends.

Look at CSGO.

And Personally, I’m perfectly fine with waiting an extra 2 minutes so I don’t have to play 2cp or Junker/Lunar

Don’t hate the map, hate the comp

Part of a competitive environment is being able to adapt to ever changing geography of each game.

Being able to avoid maps would allow people to cherry pick or at the very least avoid maps they suck at thus boosting the results of their matches.

Eyyyyy, fellow Anubis-liker!

I just get excited when I see I’m not alone in that.

It’s not just you waiting an extra two minutes, it’s EVERYONE waiting an extra two minutes, even those who haven’t avoided any maps, because there’s less people to put in their games.

CSGO doesn’t have this problem.
