Not teammates, no, also absolutely OP boosting smurfs or despicable people? Or not wanting to face the same Master/Grandmaster in Deathmatch?
They tried this initially, and it got abused. People started avoiding good enemies (not cheating or smurf types), sending wait times skyrocketing to an hour or more. Hence why it was changed to avoid as teammate only.
I get the reasoning, but since it’s only one spot would it really be an issue?
Just do the best you can, like farming the weaker players. Or leave.
If you’re queuing for FFA though then you kind of have to accept that you will run into them, because there actually isn’t any matchmaking there. And if there is then it may as well not exist.
It apparently was. Don’t recall the player name, but there was a pro level Widow who was so regularly avoided that their queue time was nearly two hours. And this was in open queue days with millions of active players.
This example was specifically cited by the dev team when they removed the avoid function. They were so opposed to any avoid function after that, it took years of discussion to get them to implement an avoid teammate only function.
Well it was the right call then. But god would that be a nice feature to have. Especially in the smurf apocalypse.
Just let me avoid my entire throwing team. Not that it matters considering Blizzard gives you yet another one right afterwards. Nevermind the fact that any avoid you did on someone was pointless considering they aren’t even in your next game or the one after that. It’s almost as if Blizzard is trying to hide the fact that the ones you’ve avoided are responsible for your loss and won’t let you prove that fact.
