Asking players to switch is not “abusive chat” -14 day silence for that is just dumb, sorry, but it is.

Examples of Abusive chat:
- “Rein switch your dog****”
- “Switch off monkey they have a reaper”
- “you can’t hit a shot as widow so switch”
Examples of useful chat:
- “Hey, could you switch to mccree for that doomfist please?”
- “Could we get more healing please?”
- “Hey i am playing reinhardt, could we maybe get a zarya so i can be aggressive?”

Because I never thought that one of them are alt accs. (Although I usually don’t think that anyway unless it’s extremely sus, but I mean EXTREMELY sus, and they aren’t sus to me)
Get used to it. Blizzard and Riot Games follows that same formula. Regardless of how you’re asking you will get reported. They know a player can get a ban easily so there’s that knowledge for ya.
It really doesn’t matter. You don’t have to do nothing to get a penalty here.

seriously ignore these guys, you’re right. you get banned for the most harmless things, makes me feel like i can’t make any joke or say anything. and no - im not making racist, sexist jokes or attacking people. the report system is inaccurate and way too hard and it just sucks how you’re completely left in the dark about what you did

I’ve never been banned personally but honestly with how the system is run it’s really made me not bother with chat at all in years. I think I gave up on voice chat after like the first year.
Honest harassment, cheating, throwing etc is ignored. Entire groups in LFG openly calling themselves “Throw to Bronze” is ignored. But the automated system means if you pick an off meta hero like Symetra you could be banned.
Even before covid, basically the only bans done were the automated one from volume of reports, not the severity of the offenses.
