So… i was trying to log in today , and the app told me that i had to put an authenticator code… had no idea what that was… so i changed my pw etc…
Any ideas though why the app was asking for a code?

someone maybe tried to hack your account and tired placing a code to authenticate themselves as you but if i was you i would engage the authenticator as they would need a code from you before they can access the account its a type of security measure
Authenticator code is a extra security measure for your account. It’s a app you can put on a phone that provides a temporary code required to login
If you never set up a authenticator then its possible someone else may of tried hijacking your account and setting one up to lock you out.
Or maybe you downloaded a authenticator, set it up and forgot about it?
no… never had authenticator codes and thing kind of stuff…
not even my phone … but i put everything now after the incident
I would look into getting the authenticator removed from your account and resetting your password
Change your email password too while you’re at it to be safe.
Also would be a good idea to run a virus scan on your computer just in case
i already removed it… and im about to change the pws as well…
thank you !
It happens from time to time.
There are three types of authentication.
Email authentication
This step is done for those who do not have SMS Protect or the Blizzard Authenticator App enabled. If you try to log onto your account and it requests you to enter a verification code from an email sent to your email account of your BattleNet account, you need to enter the six-digit alphanumeric code in order to gain access to your account on that device.
SMS Protect
This service allows you to receive verification codes by text message to your phone to protect your account from unauthorized access. But you have to set up SMS Protect through here:
Blizzard Authenticator
The Blizzard Authenticator is a free smartphone app (or a keychain) which provides randomly generated codes. Once setup, you either approve log in requests from the app or input the eight digit code that changes every 30 seconds from the app or keychain. Learn more about the Blizzard Authenticator here:
I strongly recommend running both the SMS protect features and the Blizzard Authenticator app if you have access to a smartphone. It sounds like you now have access back into your account, which is good, but the more you can keep your account protected, the better.
Thank you my friend ! i will enable the security features immediately
