Last night I ran into an issue while playing. In the middle of the game, the audio would go up and down, and the icon that pops up when you change the volume showed up on screen. I was not manually changing the volume myself, and the keys were not stuck either. This would just be a minor annoyance, but I noticed when this happened, the sensitivity of my game movements would jump up to an insane amount. It made the game unplayable for me last night, and I know I want to play again tonight, but I don’t want this problem to crop up again. Anyone have any ideas as to what could have caused this, and how to fix it?
Sounds like your issue is related to Windows, not Overwatch, as that volume overlay is part of the Windows system. You may have a driver that is out of date for your audio devices, or maybe some overheating. But this doesn’t sound like an Overwatch issue.
Ahh, okay. Would you happen to know how I could go about fixing it? Windows updated 2 days ago for me, so it should be up to date.
Yes i know exactly how to fix that for you.
You have been updated to the Windows build 1803 (spring update) - Audio Bugs galore.
What you want to do is go back to 1709 (fall creators)
To do this in your windows search bar type “recovery options” You should see an option that has a description such as “go back to the previous build” click that and you will be back to a working PC with no bugs.
I’ll try that tonight, thank you!
You are welcome!
Hopefully the 1803 build will be stable in a few months or so.
I mean us windows insider’s reported these issues to them months ago as it is in beta testing yet they still somehow made it through to consumer patches.
