This just started happening after the windows 10 update. All of my drivers are updated and I don’t have the same issue with any other game/app. For whatever reason, every time I’m not looking at a hero (enemy or ally) the sound is extremely quiet, this includes the abilities and voice lines. I’ve tried different headphones to see if I needed to get a new headset but I still had the same problem. I’ve tested it in different games that also have the same audio mechanic and didn’t have any problems, just overwatch. I’ve asked people in custom lobbies, comp, quickplay, and even in general chat and only one person seems to be having the same issue as I am. I reset everything to default, uninstalled overwatch and the blizzard app to see if that would have any impact and of course, it didn’t. Restarted my pc, reinstalled the blizzard app and overwatch but nothing has changed. I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling my audio drivers but it seems pointless, considering the fact that I’m only having this problem with overwatch. When I troubleshoot “Audio troubleshooting” it shows that a problem is detected with my generic audio driver. When I look up ways to fix this, it doesn’t show in my device manager that I’m having any problems.
Is anybody else having the same issue? Any fixes? If so please let me know, I’d like to play my comp matches without this crutch.
