Audio Driver Causing Keyboard Lag?

Happy New Year to everybody!

So, I’ve been having this problem since 6 months ago. Since then, I haven’t played a second of Overwatch other than to check if the problem still persists. I use a mere laptop with a built in AMD video card. Although it is not the best for gaming in general, I could still play Overwatch and other games without any difficulty.

However, I’ve been experiencing a unique type of lag that affects only the keyboard inputs in Overwatch. It does not affect the mouse as I can still shoot without noticeable lag or delay. This problem does not only affect the movement keys and abilities but also there is lag in opening the menu, chat and typing messages while in game. Somehow, this only affects the keyboard as when I bind other keys on my mouse the lag does not appear.

This lag can be better described as a delay in input as any action done on the keyboard is met with either a delayed response or none at all.

This does not happen in any other game or on the desktop.

I tried adjusting my video setting to default, and reinstalling Overwatch. Neither worked.

I came across a solution though albeit it is a temporary and bad one.
In this video(- YouTube), the poster has the same problem as I have and he says that he fixed it by uninstalling Nahimic Audio on his computer. However, what I have is a Realtek Audio Driver but I still decided to give it a shot and to my surprise uninstalling it did work. The only problem is that I don’t have any sound whatsoever. So, I restarted my computer and the sound returned, then I played Overwatch without encountering the lag/delay. I even got some few comp games in until I decided to leave due to the problem returning.

Right now, I am out of my wits since I have never encountered this type of lag and there are no solutions that I can find on the internet. I never posted in technical support forums of any kind usually because there was a solution to almost all the problems I have encountered before. I am stumped

I mean HOW THE F**K DOES AUDIO DRIVER = KEYBOARD LAG?!?!cough sorry

I’ve had this problem for a long time (well long in internet standards) and this keeps me awake at night. So yeah that’s it. I hope someone can tell me a solution soon. Happy Holidays, everyone! :santa::slight_smile::christmas_tree:

tl;dr
Lag/delay that only affects keyboard not mouse. Uninstalling the audio driver ‘fixes’ it. Can someone tell me why Audio Driver = Keyboard lag???

Sorry I took a while to try these solutions however none of them worked.
