i started at 1700, now im at 2900 give or take 100pts. What is up with the rage in this game?

There’s always going to be toxicity in chat. It’s just what you make of it. There’s not objective point where toxicity ends and communicate becomes too important.

EVERY RANK NEEDS TEAM CHAT.

The quick verbal exchange of knowledge between teammates is very advantageous. Being able to share enemy positions and heathcount is a key strategy for anyone trying to raise in the ranks.

Just mute anyone you think is annoying. Screw 'em.

None, no matter what rank you are voice chat is bad. People are always toxic in it because they died but it’s the teams fault or the healers.

Honestly comp isn’t worth the time and effort you’re putting in to rank up.

If you’re playing competitive, no matter the rank, you should be in team chat. There’s no excuse not to be. This game relies so heavily on teamwork and communication.

People are always going to list reasons why they think it’s ok not to be in the chat, but the answer to almost all of those excuses is either ā€œmute that supposedly toxic personā€ or ā€œdon’t play competitive if you’re playing in an environment where you can’t use your microphoneā€.

I spend most games talking to myself, but I almost always win if there’s more than a couple of us talking.

Voice chat is as good as you make it. Also, just because you don’t have fun in comp doesn’t mean nobody else does. I like the challenge and so do a lot of people.

There’s always going to be trolls in VC, so if you don’t ever want to run the risk of running into them then just don’t use it.

What I do is join VC, then leave or mute people if it’s not of any use.

Only time I’ve had a a good time in voice chat is when I six stack p. I constantly get flamed because I play mercy and other ā€˜low skill’ supports. Eg moira.

We loose?
Trash
Boosted
Wasn’t healing
Throw
One trick.

No one in this game is nice. I make voice chat with as good as I can but if I were to do the whole mute toxic people then I would be sat on my own in voice chat with 5 people muted.

I try call outs but get told to shut up because I dont know Howe to play the game other than healer. I ask for help I get a blunt fly to me and I can’t even see them. I die and ask for someone o pick me up I get blanked. Then I’m yelled at when we loose because I’m ā€˜trash’. I mean I used to talk but now my comp games consist of me muting myself Andy listening to players just yell at me or eachother.

I’ve definitely had a few awful people in voice chat, but how you respond to them is up to you. Either deal with them or mute them. There’s still probably somebody on your team that would benefit from callouts.

I’ve had many more positive voice chat experiences than negative ones. That’s life, but refusing to communicate is never an option in competitive. If those people are really that bad at communicating, they’ll move down while you move up.

no rank needs team chat at all team chat is only used if you want to tell your teammates to kill themselves

just worry about your own performance

This right here. Unless you are the unluckiest sob on the face of the planet, there should only be at worst a couple of toxic ones. Mute them, work with the rest. If the entire team is ā€œalwaysā€ that bad, you may want to start looking elsewhere for what the problem is.

I must be extremely lucky because I have not experienced this toxicity more than 3-4 times in my entire OW experience. I join comms every comp match and my only problem has been either others not joining or join but don’t talk. The only time I experienced toxic people was a couple times in season 1 and season 2. I have not had one issue last season or this season.

Play support and you’ll soon have Those numbers riseeee

Completely disagree… Matches with good communication I generally win, matches with none I generally lose. My experience does not jive with your statement.

Considering I am in comms with support and do not hear anyone being toxic to anyone, I don’t think it would matter if I played support or not.

For me, I’ve been in gold and high-plat a long time yet not once did I ever use Team Chat. And not once did it negatively impacted me or my team. It helps that the only people I see using Team Chat are Mic-Spammers.

It’s probably because I’m on console, though.

It’s garbage all the way up. If you want team chat form a group.

Plz take me to these games. I would legit love to play in them. I hate my rank and the players I get. Rude affffff

wow i wish i was as lucky as you maybe people just dont like me on doomfist lol

What rank are you in? I am in gold. I am not sure why I don’t deal with the toxicity, but generally the people who join comms have been fine. Some talk crap as they get kills and may be a little loud at times, but for the most part have been cooperative and definitely not toxic.
