if they changed their prices to reflect this, there would be a friggen stampede of people buying cosmetics, i donā€™t see why blizzard does not get this.

Depends on the appeal/quality, seriously

The hardlight weapon skins. Iā€™m not even sure I care to put $5 into one.

Make an awesome jaw-dropping skin and I will throw $20 into it.

Because they have entire marketing teams who do research to see the best prices to make the most amount of money. It is likely easier to see 1 skin for 20 dollars, than 10 skins for 2 dollars.

5 bucks would be a good estimate, but it honestly depends on the skin. The current ones have not too much special on them. If we get weapons down the line who change colors or have a special animation with each assist/elimination or transform when getting on a kill streak, I would say 10 bucks would be fine.

Weapon skins used to be reserved for a reward for competitive points which were exclusively earned in-game.

Thatā€™s the price point they should stick with. Encouraging people to actually play the game instead of just encouraging them to spend money on it.

I wouldnā€™t buy just a weapon but 5$ seems reasonable (and I donā€™t really care at what insane price other fps games sells them).

Maybe that is why they are finally adding new recolors for ranked so ppl donā€™t get that mad when there are weapons for sale now.

Nothing. There is no reason to pay for gun skins especially considering how much they raked in for the OWL Sojourn skin. Itā€™s a flat gun skin for one of 3 heroes (one of which I do play), so you better hope that you play one of those heroes.

Even worse is that these might be the only guns to get this skin design. It could be a situation where each season the release a new skin ā€œthemeā€ and you were unlucky enough to get a trash tier skin for your hero.

If this is not the case though, then these skins are releasing way too slow and itā€™ll take a literal century for them to be done with this corny skin line.

never dont give a damn about skins any of them. i wont contribute monetarily to this game after what they have done to it.

I feel like the current 12$ price would make more sense if it unlocked for every hero in the game and not just one. 12$ for just the mercy weapon is kinda crazy and I usually go for any and all mercy cosmetics but you can buy an epic skin for less than the price of this. I think a more reasonable price for it would be like 3$, or if they included multiple colors or patterns then sure maybe Iā€™d buy it.

Well skins shouldnā€™t cost more than a couple of cents when you think about what even a few dollars have gotten you in the pastā€¦

And weapon skins are just a tiny part of a skin

So I would pay a couple of Colombian pesos for one

None because we shouldnā€™t have to pay for every single god damn item in the game. Stop paying for stuff and maybe theyā€™ll start to focus on the balance instead of trying to get into your wallet.
