At what latency does the game become unplayable?

150? 250? 100?

Maybe the devs can take some hints from games with less complicated netcode that doesn’t completely poop itself if not everyone has a perfect connection.

I frequently play the game at 120-150 ping no problems, apart from the odd dying around corners to hitscans.

I mean there was a pro player called Trill who won Contenders on 300 ping playing from Australia. Playing main tank.

I find that for some reason projectile hero mains do great at higher latency once they know the spots. Watch ML7 play Ana without sweating at 150.

More reliance on predictive aiming for projectiles? They also have width, and depending on the weapon, splash. 150 isn’t that bad for me. When it gets over 200-250 is when I have no idea what’s going on.

I play on 89 ping all the time but the game becomes practically unplayable at 150

Depends who you are playing for one thing. To me its un fun a lot sooner than its unplayable. 150-200 is when i find something else to do rather than play a lagging game

If I had to i could still probably hang in there from 250-300 on some heroes but i wouldnt want to play like that

That fun moment when you still get sutned and pulled pack after plinking with Tracer.

I find it hilarious that a multi-billion dollar gaming company can’t pay to have a few more servers. Gotta pay the board and the C-Suite, so that they can use the tp made of $5 bills instead of $1s.

I steady at a ping of 65-70

Back when I was in the dorms, I had a ping of 250-300… that is when it becomes very frustrating even when you play heroes who are less reliant on aim.

Depends. Usually you will know it when the game start shifting your character around.

100 plus even 80 is too much for me. i average around 50-65 normally but man im envious how people can get 10-20

In my experience 90-120 is when it turns into a slideshow, barring the occasional lagspike.

I am used to a smooth 25-30 ms, so when I get randomly thrown on a different server and it goes up to 100-150 ms it completely kills my enjoyment of the game.

It’s not that it is “unplayable”, but I simply can’t bear it.

I think over 220+ you will notice something.

100+ is when I notice it because I’m at 59-62 about 99% of the time

I miss when they used the useast server and my ping was 25 :frowning:

when your ping goes from 59-67-61-90-61…

Also feel like that is the max I can tolerate, but I’m kinda spoiled since my normal ping is 38-42. When I get dropped onto EU servers and ping goes up to 120, it’s noticeable and annoying, but tolerable. 150-160 would probably be the worst I could comfortably play on.

Oh man… I really prefer my 20-30 ping. Sometimes when I played on NA servers, the difference with a 150 ping was huge and playing hitscan felt weird.

As someone who live through the old dial-up internet when dsl and cable internet was very new, I say anything above 135ms in CS v1.6 was unbearable, so I will say the same for OW.
