With the devs announcement of the new things they’re doing to Defense Matrix it just basically shows that this community cant handle ANY type of conversation that is different from their own. People will get mad and report you for the smallest things like, tbagging, saying EZ/Diff, or telling someone they need to counter swap. I have never seen a community this tilted and soft to the point where they rage so sadly. Yall ever wonder why this game has gone from GoTY to this steaming pile of crap?

Last one isn’t against CoC explicitly, but usually “asking someone to switch” involves insults, and it becomes against the rules by that point.
The only one I see rage are people that get banned for breaking the rules tho. Everyone else is pretty chill and just move on after blocking and reporting trouble makers.
No. This community can handle conversation… But there is a big difference between conversation and flinging insults and profanities.

You reminded me that yesterday I reported someone for typing “EZ” in the chat at the end of a game. I just logged in to check and sure enough I got a “Thank you for being a little b and reporting” message lmao.
I do it to contribute to the madness.

Everything is reported now (including forums). Better to nuke all alts, and the accounts associated with them.

First of all saying ez and tbagging are NOT reportable. I personally asked a dev/game master and they said it isnt a reportable offense. Also it isnt the people getting punished that are the ones raging, its majority of the community. You really going to say this community can handle conversation when with the release of venture had people screeching for people saying she lol.

Tbagging is fun. I just played a match where I got bagged and I bagged back. It’s no big deal. People need to chill. How is anyone going to have fun if every movement or word you say or type is looked at as ‘ToXiC’?

I have been saying the same thing. Idk why this game even has a chat. It is useless 99% of the time even without taking the report abuse into consideration.

As for the main post, the biggest problems ARE the people who get butthurt about everything, before you get your torches and pitchforks let me say that if you get insulted or made fun of mid match, just ignore it, if anything its funnier to ignore it and let them go off that way you can have an actual reason to report. Its one thing to get called a mean word grade schoolers probably use but to report someone because you got annoyed is incredibly childish. There should seriously be a report timeout button for these kind of people, there are people who probably report someone every match for the smallest thing then say “well they broke the rules”,

I wont be surprised if blizzard starts making heroes shoot marshmallows lol. If I ever get banned for tbagging then I’ll just move on to the next game. Where does blizzard cross the line? How long until players are not allowed to die because someone’s feelings got hurt? I know thats an exaggeration but we really aren’t that far from reaching a point like that.

IM okay with this. All it does is make people argue with eachother and not pay attention to the game. I mean you cant do it in Apex so, why not here? It would surely reduce toxicity

I posted a sick 5 man rein shatter on overwatch reddit and it showed for like a split second that i was chat banned and someone asked why and i said “i dunno i dont actually have a mic to chat and never really type to unless say x is behind or at end of games for gg and ez.”

Majority of these people have never competed in a single thing in their lives and their only basis for competition was kickball during recess a decade ago and overwatch.
Some people take pride in sitting down, taking time out their lives, and being better than others in some things and others find that as absolutely cringe and thats fine. my problem is when one side thinks the other is absolutely right and tries to silence the other. I come from a background of hurling coins in an arcade machine on old fighting games from darkstalkers, marvel vs capcom, capcom vs snk, tekken 3 etc so maybe i’m just used to trash talk but to try to lobotomize a core aspect of gaming to me just… just doesn’t sit right with me.
