Ashe's Character Bothers Me

Aside from her overall ingame kit, is it just me or is she just… so underwhelming for being the “leader of the Deadlock Gang.”

She has about the same personality as a plank of wood, let alone the design of one. Honestly I’m kinda hoping that, in the future, they introduce another Deadlock Gang member with a bit more… ‘villain’ than this amalgamation of questionable drawings and a Disney Queen.

Or that Junkerqueen is SO much better than her, when she no doubt gets released.

Ashe’s personality is just watered down McCree

her kit is an overpowered version of McCree

… Yeah, that’s pretty accurate.

Take Doomfist. Leader of Talon, and wielder of THE DOOMFIST ITSELF. When he appeared in the Archives cinematic he felt like a villain. When his story was released, he gave you that sense of sheer power (I mean he NEARLY WIPED TRACER FROM TIME FOR GODS SAKE.)

Ashe yelled a lot and missed every shot on McCree. How tragic.

All characters are stereo types.
She’s the game’s tomboy.

Zarya thicc.

This thread went off on a tangent. xD

Have you even seen her origin story and the route 66 cinematic. Her design as in terms of personality is great!

Also you can’t really bring Doomfist into this. Very much not comparable. Doomfist is an evil villain, also driven by political motives. Ashe is a free spirit, a rebel, maybe even a spoiled brat and Blizzard totally succeeded in showcasing this.

The Deadlock gang isn’t some evil, twisted gang (driven by political motives), they’re just opportunists who don’t take the law and morals very seriously. Ashe is a fine leader.

I like her story. That sceen from her origin, when she was fireing from her little slingshot or where she was at principal with two boys, who clearly got their butts kicked by her, that reminds me myself and my childhood (yeah, I was girl like this and I regret nothing). She wanted to find her own way of life despite rich parents and prescripted social life. I am not saying, that being a criminal is great idea, but she made it and lives her life the way she wants. Cliche for someone, inspirational for others, who went through something similar in life.

She was definitely talking about herself during the after-credits bonus scene where she says (paraphrased) “Mccree shows up and everybody just falls to pieces”

She says she hates him, but she still loves him. No doubt. A total tsudere. Even Bob knows this.

Probably had her dynamite on Cooldown. Every Ashe in a nutshell.

But aside this: i liked her design, her voice and personality.

Bob is her personality. Checkmate atheist.

In this game, you are either very happy, very angry, or junkrat.

That’s what happens when they design an entire character around a cool weapon concept. Same thing happened to Echo. Designed what could have been a really interesting character based around finding a balance of Omnic and human. But no they made the copy ultimate and stripped the character of all of their personality. Boring.
