Hello my name is Vilkath and I like to play Ashe… The problem is I am really bad at it. I use a track ball mouse, have generally poor vision and lousy ping. I am the absolute worst person to pick a hit scan hero… yet I find her fun.
I heard the first step is admitting you have a problem so welcome to Ashe Anonymous, for those of us with a problem picking Ashe.
With just Ashe? That sounds impressive. Though my main issue isn’t dying so much. I find Ashe is pretty good at staying alive if you try. No I feel like i miss too many shots and just don’t contribute enough dmg.
Bob is the only thing keeping people from thinking I’m throwing imo…
Hi, I’m SFW, short for whatever you can think of. I play on an unstable 32 FPS and below, and I like to play Ashe. Femshep with satisfying rifle mechanics has me playing a role I shouldn’t be touching, but with little to no regret.
Err no my mouse is still available pretty much every where, though it’s mostly Walmart. It’s the logitech mouse with the ball on the left side that you move with your thumb. Far more convenient for a small work space.
A high DPI mouse only needs a few centimeters of space at the highest settings. Those Logitech sold at Walmart are probably the lowest tier they can sell. My desk is very small too but I only buy high DPI gaming mice. Yes they are pricey but in the end they can make a difference. Those trackball mice are not really meant for gaming. Oh and I do only buy Logitech mice, in case you wanted to know.
My problem isn’t with my aiming with her gun or any of her other abilities.
My problem with her is B.O.B. I can never aim him effectively. I swear I aim straight at a wall, clear as day, but he still goes past it and ends up off the map or in the next section
Ashe is so easy to do well with. I mostly play support and sometimes tank, but I can pick up Ashe and be almost assured of gold damage/elims. Plus, it feels like we usually win, and when we don’t win it doesn’t feel like it’s my fault. It’s gonna hurt when she inevitably gets big nerfs, but she’s obviously overpowered.
I think he’s talking about an actual trackball, the kind with the ball up top that you spin with your thumb. They still make those, although they are less popular than they were.
I couldn’t imagine playing an FPS without a trackball, and while the best one for ergonomic aiming has been out of manufacture for a while now (MS Trackball Explorer 1.0), there are a couple reasonable alternatives. I’d never be able to hit the broad side of a barn without one.
Each to their own, just making the point that there’s no “proper mouse” for Overwatch.
Well the one I use is fairly popular, about $25 bucks give or take, wireless etc. Called logitech trackball m570.
Very useful, very easy on your arm and wrist since the only thing that has to move is your thumb. Easy to do fast movements and precision as you can just spin the ball to do a 180. Not perfect for aiming, but drawing or the like isn’t too bad.
Mostly I’ve used it for about 5 years, so used to using my thumb I struggle with a normal mouse tbh. Plus you don’t even need a desk if your using a laptop or such to watch Youtube or the like on TV.
