Ashe already available in comp. Why?

I thought the devs said new heroes would only be available after a new season has started.

Why is Ashe already available then ? I don’t mind people playing what they want but I think it’s too early for her to be available in competitive. A lot of people are currently throwing games because of the hype of playing a new hero in competitive and it feels kinda bad, as there are 30 more days to go until the end of the season and there’s the 6-day inactivity penalty if I don’t play…

This means I must continue playing to avoid inactivity decay even though I know most of the games will have high chances to be lost just because of the Ashe hype :disappointed_relieved: !

It would be nice not to have fresh released heroes available in the middle of an ongoing season. I’ve been playing for one hour today and it already feels like the usual “let’s throw” games at the end of every season.

They realised this was a bad idea which 90% of the playerbase hated.

Ok I understand. My bad, I should stick to playing only the last 5 remaining days of every season. I know, it’s some kind of system exploit abuse but well, playing comp with a new hero released in the middle of a season can really mess up with your rank.

Thanks for letting me know  !

Look at it logically, the odds of someone on the other team playing Ashe poorly are even higher than to have such a player on your team, so this actually should help you on average.

I guess I must be unlucky then. No Ashe in the enemy teams, only in mine with very little kills. Lost like 2-3 games in a row already. This is going to be my last then I’m gonna be off. My rule is to have a break after 3 games lost in a row  !

I think a lot of teams are avoiding playing Ashe when they see a bad Ashe in the other team. They must be saying “let’s play our best heroes, they have an Ashe noob that throws” ! Why would they miss an opportunity for free SR ?

How does this mean a greater chance for you losing?

I’m Master on my main account and Diamond on my second one. Diamond rank is already full of leavers and throwers. If you add Ashe being available on top of that, you can lose 100 SR in less than an hour.

They did that with Brigitte. And lots of people complained at their decision, as they wanted to play her in comp ASAP.

(just google “why isn’t brigitte in competitive yet”)

So I guess they don’t want to annoy the playerbase anymore. There were tons of people waiting eagerly for Ashe to hit comp.

Funny 'cause now people would do anything not to have Brig available in comp with the silly #DeleteBrig movement that finally managed to get her hard nerfed :stuck_out_tongue: !

So I guess the playerbase has become quite selective now. They knew Ashe wouldn’t be game changing so it’s fine if she’s available in the middle of a comp season.

Well then, let’s enjoy the throwing I guess. I wish you luck on your comp games guys.

I’m planning to ride this wave of bad Ashe players by shutting them down with shield tanks.

Diamond here I come!

(similar to how I played Mai during the much shorter-lived Hammond release)

Go ahead ! I just won two games in a row on my second account because there was an Ashe in the enemy team and we got none  !

Also note that Ashe has a bug currently as it’s explained here, so do it fast before it’s fixed :

Literally a throw fest. Not only that, Diamond players are filled with self-entitled people that think they’re the MVP of the team and throw when it doesnt go their way.
