She’s also just a well-rounded marksman pick - hitscan is reliable, after all. Because of this, she’s usually my comfort swap if I feel I’m doing terribly on a flanker or gimmicky DPS.
Like others have said, the mythic weapon also probably helps bump her playrate. There hasn’t really been a mythic weapon yet for a hero I play, so I wonder if when the time comes, it’d be worth it for me.

Ashe is both strong and safe and has never been bad.

its what happens when you overnerf soldier/cree, and theres too much dive comp for widow to be played.
this cycle has happened like, 10+ times. if all hitscans had equal fall-off to one another, which they more so used to in the past, then thered be room for all hitscans to be more equally competitive with one another.
why the devs prefer a 1 hitscan at a time meta is… beyond me. its boring and one dimensional.

(Ashe/Soj is pretty much every game tho, with a little Genji flare thrown in).

Well, most players are bad at the hero, as she is arguably the hardest to play, certainly top 5. But at the very top of the game, she is good. Especially in the current meta with more mobile tanks on many maps.

They made her so much more accessible to the general playerbase though?
Way less spread.
DPS Passive benefited her more than almost any other character.
Passive Healing is huge for her ability to engage more often.
Extra HP + Recall makes her infinitely harder to actually punish now that there are fewer ways to one shot her.
She’s definitely hard to master, but her skill floor has been lowered significantly.
