As much as I love Overwatch

I love overwatch to death but its rather entertaining to slowly watch the league implode and the core of the fanbase start to reject the game due to poor content updates. But big business like Blizzard and Activision need to know there are consequences to their greed.

I dont blame the devs, knowing how much Jeff had to fight upper management to make OW2 an expansion with content carry over instead of a stand-alone sequel I have a feeling he would much rather just have released the new content in a somewhat steady pace but that wasn’t the option the team was given.

I don’t really care about the content update since they’ve said they’re working on ow2
However I’d like more balance on the experimental. I feel like we get it for one week, most changes go live, and we wait 2 other weeks for another one. I’d like to see it every week or so, specially with the ammount of changes they can do. Or instead do absolutely big patches, risky ones, since they’re listening to feedback pretty well, so they know what to push and what to not push

So you love the game but you also love it when negative things happen to it?

What kind of mindset is that dude?

If I loved a game, I’d sure want the most for it.

And how do you know that he had to “fight with upper management”?

Or is this just some speculation based on some conspiracy?

People don’t appreciate this fact enough.

Seriously. They could have easily gone Call of Duty mode on us, and made it a separate game.

And you know damn well that’s what Activision would have wanted, too.

Jeff literally said in an interview about convincing them to make it an expansion instead of a sequel

Source?

I’m actually curious

I think he feels how I do about the game.

I love it. It has provided me with tons of fun.

But they have handled this game poorly and have catered to flighty people who just want ez pz heros. Look at how all the pro and content creators are vacating this game for the last year. It’s getting to the point where they are getting what they deserve. I feel bad for the devs that worked on this game that have left due to how bad this company is now.

This is a common sentiment on the forums and it’s also very ignorant. There’s no evil corporate greed hurting this game. OWL is free to watch. Every map and hero we’ve ever gotten has been free. Good games balance from the top down and anything that’s bad for the league is also bad for the game you supposedly love. This ridiculous rejoicing at the “downfall” of the single most influential esports league in history is 3 edgy 5 me.

I seem to be having trouble posting links but if you search “Convincing Blizzard To Merge Overwatch 1 And 2 Was ‘Very Challenging’” youll find the article. Fight was probably a strong word on my part but he did have to convince management
