Argument for 60hps Mercy

Simple,
Every support bar Zenyatta has better single target healing potential

Brigitte’s is 76hps
Moira’s is 140hps
Baptiste’s is 90hps
Lucio’s is 52hps
Ana’s is 140.625hps

while Mercy’s is 50hps

You’d think since she has no AoE (in her base kit, personally I believe she shouldn’t have AoE in Valk but that’s just me) she would have strong single target healing to compensate, but that simply isn’t the case

50hps has clipped Mercy far more than the Devs probably anticipated
or maybe they did anticipate it, that she would never have the capability of being meta ever again, only being picked to be attached to a Pharah or an Ashe

when AoE healers have better single target healing than the supposed single target healing archetype, there is a gigantic, monster elephant of a problem

This needs the context of those numbers.

Those heroes are not maintaining those numbers constantly (as mercy does).

Those are their top spike/AOE potential healing (which mercy lacks)

I agree she needs a bit more oomph, but 55 is probably fine given there is no targeting involved.

Doubt it will happen though as the devs seem to want to reduce the effects of tanks and healers on the game.

And based on recent trends, it seems unlikely they would go higher than that, as you noted.

You’d be surprised how easy it is to reach those peaks for a lot of the healers
Moira’s is dead easy to reach,
Brigitte’s is too,

Ana just does more healing from the get go
Biotic Grenade just makes her do that much more

The ease of access is not my point, the fact that you are comparing sustained, constant healing to burst healing is.

It’s like comparing soldier’s rocket to moira’s tickle beam.

Same destinations, different paths.

It’s simple, really. Mercy’s healing beam should create an adaptive overshield on full health targets she’s healing. During Valkyrie, her HPs should be 70 aoe, and nerf the duration of the ult to compensate.

Adding this

Mercy does less than 500 damage on average so please keep that in mind! While mercy might be 1000 healing ahead of ana for example, please also look at the damage values!

They’ve been nerfing AoE healing
and rightly so

Mercy has single target healing
which should always be more powerful than AoE (Ana is the perfect example)

Mercy does less single target healing than post-nerf AoE healers while still somehow being held up as this single target healing archetype by the community

Why would this be necessary in a thread that is discussing a direct buff as opposed to a rebalancing?

The forums’ obsession with compensating buffs/nerfs in non redistribution scenarios is strange.

She doesn’t need any
the 50hps nerf was too much

Mercy has lagged behind and has been lagging behind for quite some time
she lags behind even now, even after the nerfs to AoE healers

though if she was to receive a nerf I would gladly sacrifice some of her damage boost for actually decent healing

The healing nerfs started with Mercy to 50 hp/s. The AOE nerfs are just the most recent.

This is true, which is why the most recent changes have been direct nerfs to AOE healing. I doubt the devs are done either.

I wouldn’t call a lower pickrate than Zenyatta in GM balanced :slightly_smiling_face:

I think Blizz has made it clear with recent balance changes that they want healers,apart from Moira (cause she offers nothing besides healing and damage),to only heal 50-55HPS.

Also,if Mercy were to have 60HPS again,then we’d have the old problem of “Why pick other healers when Mercy can do everything but better?”

Reminder that her healing is a lock-on,it goes through barriers,it doesn’t rely on resources or reloading and when she had 60HPS,she solo healed triple tanks in OWL. Not to mention she also has damage boost,mobility with a very low CD and Rez.

LOL ya’ll Mercy is fine as is. She just requires more skill and gamesense than before, that is all.

Ah, but that is your opinion, not ours.

This thread exists because we feel she is NOT balanced and is in fact slightly underpowered. Hence the desire for a buff, not a redistribution of effectiveness.
