Hey, finaly we have very usefull tool to try prove or disproof forced lossing theory.
Are you in bronze to gold? Did you just have forced loss streak? Or do you feel like you play a lot better than your team mates consistently and not climbing? Lets share you replay codes. Nothing is more easy now.
Share the codes, tell us who are you in match and tell us your rank and SR and me and possibly others can analyze your games.
If you can, share small info about posted games, because some things like chat/voice chat cannot be seen in replay.
why does it matter if he’s biased, if he’s willing and able to help you climb? it doesn’t.
besides, everyone is biased - most people just won’t admit it. at least if you go this route you can see if you were wrong or not. at least xion is willing to be out there standing by his beliefs instead of just sniping threads without bringing anything to the table.
I’m having real trouble in some of my tank games. Some games that seem unwinnable to me when I tank. Maybe I’ll take you up on your offer when I have a similar game.
At least with support I know where I’m going wrong.
If you want coaching, it doesn’t matter if he’s biased and free advice is always useful.
But, to pretend this thread will prove or disprove handicapping in matchmaking is silly. It’s very easy to analyze a game and pick out mistakes on the part of the player when your goal is to prove that the player is only being held back by themselves. If the player cannot be identified without identifying themselves, or the loss condition is easily identified as certain players, that reduces it to Xion’s ability to observe without bias.
Sure why not, just keep in mind that I dont play on console, so some things can be different there.
Oh yes, maybe I made that clear, but I am still open to changed my minds. I have changed my mind about few things already on these forums when I faced good arguments evidence of several things.
What would that be usefull to anyone? I want to help to person who would post the replay.
Yeah that would be fun, why not, But I didnt create this topic to have funny challenge
i believe the point of the thread is not to “disprove” anything but to get the people who incessantly blame their failures on the scapegoat of the hour to either put up or shut up. the burden of proof lies with them - xion and blizzard (with replay codes) are giving them an opportunity to make their case.
Anyone with even a basic understanding of mathematics and logic can see why posting replays or identifying handicapping is not practical, logical, or feasible. There are far too many subjective factors for one person’s analysis to conclude anything, never mind that most of these people aren’t even able to understand how handicapping would work if implemented.
This is just an attempt to pick on low intelligence posters and reaffirm Xion’s own ideas. If you want to use observational data to prove a point, the lowest standard of evidence would still require it be blind.
Come on, dont be afraid, I dont bite. Pick one game, tell me what do you think happened in that game, your opinion about others if you want, I will watch it, check others and tell you my honest opinion and spotted things you can improve.
I’m not stuck. I went from 2100 to 2600 on tank this season. I’ve never suggested forced losses are a thing, nor that the matchmaker wants to hold any person back. You’ve read my thread, you know where I stand on it.
I’m just an advocate for logic, and you’re misrepresenting an argument to bolster your own viewpoint. This is not how you prove or disprove anything, it’s simply a way for you to convince yourself you’re doing so.
I have no doubt that I could hand select a game where my teammates were absolute garbage and still be blamed. I also have no doubt that a GM player in the same game could’ve won. I understand your point, and it isn’t mutually exclusive with handicapping existing. Your problem is that you can’t argue with logic, so you look at single examples and pick on people too stupid to understand the macro concepts behind them.
You are judging me and predicting future without even seeing me commenting someone else match. You dont know what I would tell you. I am honest person.
I’ve seen enough of your posts to follow a trend. If I were looking for coaching, I’d be happy to show you a game and hear what you had to say.
I’m not stupid enough to believe that replays are able to prove or disprove handicapping to an acceptable level; human bias and observation don’t allow it. That’s why I focused on hard data points and Blizzard quotes when forming an argument. It’s also why I’m not going to try to use a game to prove it; even if you believed it was proof(and we all know that isn’t happening) I would know it isn’t.
Anyone can produce a game or games with leavers, throwers, or other hard problems. They don’t prove they were put there to hold the person back, because random chance is always a factor. This is a concept that needs to be proved/disproved using macro concepts, not single examples.
I agree, and that’s why I take threads about handicapping with a grain of salt. Many players claim to experience “handicapping” (which nobody has really defined), but how exactly do they know this?
Would it help if it wasn’t just one person’s analysis? Perhaps if the player, Xion, and other forum goers analyzed the gameplay?
Besides, I don’t think Xion is trying to disprove handicapping, as that can’t be done without a definition of handicapping. I think he’s merely trying to provide players who have a negative attitude a different perspective. I think his goal is to help players focus on themselves more than their teammates and the matchmaker. I think that’s great. But I predict that not many people will share replays, because it’s much easier to just blame the system.
Why does the context of this thread have to be about forced loss streaks and bad teammates? If your real motive is to help people improve at the game, why not just offer free coaching to anyone? Why limit it only to people who have a certain view of the matchmaking process?
I wont lie, its better click bate like that ,but its still pretty hot topic on OW comp forum so I am trying to show reality might be little bit different from perspective of someone else. A lot of people feel like their team mates are bad, but they dont have to be.
If you share your game I can check it and we dont have to talk about forced lossing or stuff like that at all.
