yea it would be jarring to go back and forth. playing classic widow then going back to live widow is jarring as well. of course she still is very good
I was just a beast on old brig its actually the first support I played in competitive lol
Launch Brig had a 700 hp barrier and bash stunned + 50 dmg.
Later Brig had a 600 HP barrier with bash not going through barriers and only 5 dmg.
oh yea… she had 250 health while everyone is at 200
oh and for nostalgia sake…

There’s nothing to celebrate about release Brig. She legitimately almost destroyed OW. 4/5ths of the ppl on my friends list stopped playing after her release (not immediately but before they fixed her) and none came back.
Ok that was an exaggeration, some of that number were the GM mercys that fell to silver after moth got fixed.
would be crazy if she was a reason people left the game. i also remember the voice actress had death threats… was it jeff’s fault lol?

Don’t forget her ult Gave HEALABLE ARMOUR that persisted until she died.
So after she ulted you had to deal with a 400 hp support, 300+ of which was armour, with a 600hp barrier, a hard stun every 6 seconds, a powerful knockback and a self heal… Oh don’t forget her repair pack was a 150hp burst heal that would overheal above a heroes max hp and add the difference as armour.
And people wonder why she got massively nerfed.

She’s strong but, she’s not going to be anywhere near as strong as she was because the dive players are way, way better than they were back then.
I’m more concerned about DVAs changes. They truly changed the game, and will again.
Brig is the anti dive man I dont care how good they are you play brig into dive no problem

Personally, I think the newer Brigitte is more enjoyable to play beyond having less shield health. The period we had 300hp shield was peak ow2 for me.
Having 3 repair packs and a 5sec shield + double length is more fun than feeling like you have to hold onto shield bash for so long to stun people due to the 7sec duration. The only other thing I miss is self healing on repair pack since +100 armor still makes Brig insanely easy to kill.

She’ll be played into dive, sure, but expecting that she’ll completely shut it down like she did at the time is probably not going to happen. Players are so much better now than they were. I feel like even goats would be beatable by other, better played compositions at this point, too.
its a good question about how players are better so maybe she wont be as op as before… still i see her still being a menace in her launch form…
i mean a support hero who can manhandle rein back in the day. i remember doing that heh
