Are you even banning cheaters?

Overcheat. 4 out of 5 games have cheaters. How often do they get banned? When do you ban? Looks like everybody is accepting it.

Honestly just reporting all of these for spam because y’all are pushing a narrative and it’s getting old. I wonder how many of you cheat accusers there actually are because we all know y’all have even more alts than I do.

Not a Christian, but I’ll pray you find something better to do with your time. Maybe get a job?

Sure thing buddy. Show us codes

No, they do not ban them. Game is literally cheaterwatch2. Aimbot vs aimbot, same like in tf2.

I feel like this is a massive exaggeration. I sure don’t have that many cheaters in my games. Or, if I do, they’re very very bad at cheating.

That being said, it’s definitely a problem that ought to be addressed. I’ve had games in the past that were just canceled mid-game because they banned a cheater. But I feel like that does happen a bit too infrequently.

Account bans don’t work so long as accounts are free to make without any real world user association data. Blizz used to associate accounts with phone#'s to track users IRL, but this requirement was dropped for some unknown reason, so now cheaters can just fire up new accounts whenever the old one gets banned.

It was dropped because I guess some people who have pc and consoles don’t also have cell phones. So people weren’t happy when OW2 launched and a phone number was required. So they dropped the feature completely and just allowed free accounts to be made infinitely instead.

They are not. I have not met much blatant ones but neither them or the subtle ones I reported got any response.

There’s around 1 cheater I’ll notice every 4-5 games during September. Way worse than the previous few months.

I think it’s between how much you noticed and “4 out of 5”. Cheats has gone fairly subtle and I have seen some interesting cases where people cheat on mei instead of the usual widow/new-hanzo/cass. I would wager the actual number is around 1 every 3-4 games at current high mmr, less at lower.

Theoretically they can also use any phone# with voice menu validation instead of text to initially validate the account.

Also charging a small $1 USD fee against the user’s CC or other payment method would also serve as a user identifier and a cost hurdle against making thousands of alt-accounts.

They do but not as often as they should.

They are, but because it is so easy to just make a new account and cheat again, it doesn’t matter. More accounts are being created faster than Blizzard can actually ban them.

Nope, banwaves dont help at all. This game is so bad, has been like this for too many seasons. Im so glad Space Marine 2 has good PvP. I havent experienced cheaters there, damn good game. This is a proper sequel done right, OW2 is not

i thought it was more that blizz didnt recognize the smaller ‘telecom’ companies phone numbers?

Maybe. But I’m pretty sure it’s because the first week or two of release it was heavily complained about. Which is sad because here we are with Smurfs, cheaters, and alt accounts all over the place with little to no way to remove them. We had a semi solution at least but it wasn’t fair because little Tommy couldn’t keep his 10 accounts.
