Are weekly balance patches too much

feels like blizzard barely puts any effort into their monthly balance patches anyways…

Well, yeah, they wouldnt even have time to test a weekly balance patch.

AHAHAHA what makes you think they test their monthly ones?

All game patches need to be tested or something might crash the game.

If they are going to touch only on 3-4 heroes (and not even the ones that needs it) out of 30 every time, weekly balance should be the norm.

At this point it feels like they are just buying time before get fired and are just pretending to be doing anything.

I’d say patches every two weeks is fair.

This is what the experimental card was supposed to be. Live changes to test out with the community instead of randomly disrupting the live game mid season.

They can’t patch weekly. Sony requires 3 weeks to approve it hence why we only get a start and mid season patch

We are getting few changes because heroes don’t need any dramatic changes and the one’s which are are happening soon. Balance is pretty good for several ranks. The ranks which are having issues have counterpick options players aren’t picking up.

Blizzard can’t tighten their development cycle to identify, plan develop, test and release changes monthly. There’s no chance they could keep up with weekly.

Weekly is silly. Monthly is fine, no quicker than that.

With such low impact changes like they did to Orisa they should do weeklies. Month patches are fine if they actually impact the game in meaningful way.

Yes, weekly would be too much.

The League is the reasoning as to why the developers don’t do frequent balance patches, and no one would ever be able to change my mind on this.

How is owl even related to that? They play on the same patch for months anyways. It’s not like they play on the live patch all the time.

My mind may have been changed. :joy:

is that still the case? i thought the whole hotfix thing was implemented so they can do number changes on a whim

It was. But that’s for hot fixes. Not patches.

There is only a limited number of things they can hotfix, and I think it’d only been used a handful of times since going live. Maybe 2 or 3.

FotM balance is the worst, imo; Content for the sake of content. “What can we force into this patch so it looks like we are doing something, guys?”

This is the real answer. It’s not possible to do on all platforms so they have a hard limit on the number of patches in a certain amount of time.
