I got Bronze 5 and I grinded to Plat 4, then I had a tank that died 9 times, no idea what he was doing. Guy said its’ his first time playing rank, wtf

Yeah, same for me. Couple of “qualifier” games after 3 consecutive wins.

Whats likely happening is that the bad matchmaking is mixing people of all skill level regardless of weather it should or not.

my silver 4 games feel like mid-gold (my previous rank), but sometimes I feel like I get a player that has the game sense of a low bronze mixed in. They can get away with shady matchmaking like this now that ranks aren’t published.
Also, the correlation factor between MMR and rank is super-loose now. I think it was tuned this way intentionally to manipulate people to play more in pursuit of “the climb”. Rank is supposed to seek balance with MMR, but it has been tweaked to move so slowly, that it is making players like me feel hardstuck a full rank or 2 below what they should be based on previous seasons.

Would make sense. I frequently get players in Diamond that cannot be above bronze legitimately. MM is trash and I hope people move on from this dumpster fire game asap.

The game right now is literally the team with less brain dead new players wins. If you have a brand new tank player and they don’t it’s just an instant L

So youre tired of playing with the ever increasing number of new players not knowing how to play a game that you have had literal years to learn.
How about a change of perspective: instead of vewing all the new players as invading your special hobby, try reaching out to them, teach them. It is falling on the shoulders of us ow1 players to guide the new players into the roles and characters that fit their playstyle best, or help them adapt.
They are here trying to learn a new game and instead of being the helpful sherpa that is beloved by the comunity you consciously make the choice to act like a petulant child just because there are strangers plying with your toys.
This game will get better as the newbies learn, but toxic behavior is going to impede that. So if you cant help with the effort to make the comunity better then at least please dont be a nuisance.

stay behind me and if dps or any enemy came at you get closer to me so i can bash them out !
what happen that support on the other side chasing some kind dps wants to kill him and end up dying because he is behind the enemy lines doing what dps should do from time to time
it is bad game design
- bad matchmaking
-bad ranking system ( it is mainly based on wins or loss ) and you cannot get good stats with the current games
the requirement for entering the comp mods shouldn’t be 50x wins
it should be
healing done ,players saved , , etc for support
same goes to dps and tanking
the game should have some kind pathway to teach the players
players wont listen to other players because guess what ! EGO
the game should be the one doing that not me

i ping on the map when someone on me
i ping low hp targets for DPS
i protect the support when i can
i avoid damage i use corners very well
i use my lucio ult to save the team from other ults
i do my role the game should put me in place with people who play their own role
im not teacher to teach people to play in ranked games !
it is the DEVS job or content creators not me
newbies will learn if the game have the path for them to learn
not keeping them learning on other players and make them stuck on low ranks
the 50 win the stupidest thing ever exists on game like this .

and guess what the whole team kept dying because with the kirko we have ana which is very good healer if she have like Lucio /mercy or any fast healing healer

playing as dps since i want to play but my blood pressure cant handle stupidity anymore
we have two healers that heals !
tank that plays like sniper ! ( orisa standing on far from the fight using the machinegun while we need her for pushing the point so we can get the payload out )
i asked him can he push forward because we have the healing for it
the answer is total silence ! and kept playing like he playing TDM ignoring the OBJ
torb turret would have been more useful than this player .
you ignoring the issue and living in wonderland that people are listening and playing together ! wow you can take a tour in the forums this is not the case .

From how youre describing that match it sounds like the whole teamwas filled with fresh players.
If running into them is this much of an issue for you than why not use any of the team finder things. Group with a few other knowledgeable people and go kick butt. Just make sure to switch to blie chat to try and communicate with the other players.
Oh, and remember positivity is the best salve for a comunity with failings like these.
I managed to go from silver to plat in a couple days as support and if i didnt carry the game was lost
the ranked system isnt the main issue its the requirements to play ranked being too low winning 50 games means you could afk for 50 games doing 20dmg per game and you would still gain access to ranked

50 wins isn’t the right way for people to have access to ranked it is very very very bad system
and it doesn’t even require from players to learn their roles before jumping in

…again being stuck with bad players isn’t my problem it is problem of matchmaking and how players getting access to comp play
this should change .
the current matchmaking needs huge changes it is very bad
and there is no hope if you stuck down
unless you want people to stay for months in low ranks till people figure out how to learn their own role .

The thing is there isnt really a way blizzard can fix this because if they raise the requirements to a 100 wins the same issue still happens, and if they made it 1M dmg (quite high but enough to show you play the game) it could be just 100000 games with 10 dmg each very extreme example but even if they get the 1 million dmg required to play, they could just swap to support where they dont know how to play or they could have been 1 tricking for all the million dmg and if that character is taken they have no clue who to play or how to play anyone.
And now with the game being free to play little Timmy downloads the game plays a game a day ends up getting the wins for ranked, but he still doesnt really understands the game just pew pew funny colours.
I do agree that 50 wins is a bit soon to be in comp for some. However there wouldn’t be an issue if the game devs had filtered the players by skill ranking instead oof this melting pot of bs.
