The last patch reduced Reaper’s damage by 1.5 damage per pellet (30 damage per shot). It also reduced his spread by 2 while doing nothing to his fall of range. Now he does at most 220 damage on a headshot and 110 on body shot against enemies without armor and he does 110 damage on headshot and 55 damage per body shot against armor. The nerf also reduces Reaper’s ability to break shields and makes it impossible to one-shot Mccree and Mei when barrel stuffing the head.
What I’m trying to say is the patch is just a nerf to Reaper. Even with the patch reaper still wants to be in close range barrel stuffing the opponent but his damage is now lower. It is still just as easy to kite Reaper as a dps and tanks can literally walk forward while attacking him and recieving healing to make reaper back off. Reaper no longer deters tanks from walking towards an objective and gained no real buff in return
I do hope so, since he really just isn’t good now. I tried him earlier, his damage is just sad.
I used to fear the reaper. Whenever a reaper managed to get up close you knew you were in trouble no matter which character you played.

They just should change it back to tje original wxperimental with 6dmg per pellet instead of 5.5dmg
In the same breath they could finally nerf the cowboy, fully revert Tracer fall-off and tune down Echo against tanks.
Even with 6 damage is bad, mostly because there are still like 8 pellets OUTSIDE the crosshair, so only the center 12 pellets are accurate. They have to either leave it at 7 damage OR make all the pellets inside the crosshair. Either would be fine.
If you leave it at 6, since half the pellets wont hit, the difference would be minimal to what it is now.
Ngl any damage nerf to reaper raises the same issue. The experimental patch was always a nerf. Reaper’s spread was never the problem, his problem has always been getting into fights/exiting fights safely and the fact that a plurality of team comps have either cc, damage absorption, or damage redirection that makes him useless.
It was a pretty good buff actually, atleast on non-armored targets.
It really wasn’t, his interaction is worse than it was before the buff.
They are probably going to but given the Genji situation i would not have hopes that is the case.

They should just leave the spread change and revert it back to 8. Let’s see where he goes from there. If he’s broken, so what? Genji was broken for 1,5 months and they didn’t bat an eye meanwhile. Why would it be any different with Reaper?
Knowing the balance team, Reaper probably won’t get any changes at all for another 6 months at least

They should had done what everyone said and just left his damage as is while reducing his spread. Therefore slightly improving his skill requirements, while increasing his effectiveness against squishes.
He wouldn’t be less of a Tankbuster, sure, but he wasn’t such a great threat to Tanks either way even before the Nerf.
There better be. I don’t play Reaper myself but I feel bad for everyone who enjoys him (or used to).

It was at 6 on experimental, so there’s that. They should’ve just kept it at 6, not 5.5.
