edit: Im talking about the base/default hero skins specifically, the ‘classic’ skins, if that makes sense.
no, they will be in shop on rotation.
only exclusives are specific event ones and blizzcon skins.
or you can maybe buy them directly through the character select (the regular ones not event ones)? they haven’t explained the shop in that much detail honestly.
I would be very surprised … ok maybe not THAT surprised, but surprised if they weren’t just part of the base unlock for the character.

You mean a new player unlocks the 30 heroes and the ONLY skin they have is their new OW2 one?
EDIT: does this mean the watchpoint pack, with it’s included legendary edition gives you all the heroes and skins from base OW1?

No I mean the default skins, like the skin you have as the base skin of the character.
You will be able to get the Halloween mummy skin, although for $$$$$

I’m 100% certain default skins are free…why on earth would they monetize default OW1 skins?

Oh thank God. Didn’t they say before you received both the old and new default skins if you’re an OG player? I could have swore I read that somewhere ages ago, but I could be misremembering.
Yeah they did. I’m wondering about new accounts, hence why i’m asking if they are exclusive (unobtainable) like pink mercy, blizzcon skins, and the weekly challenge event skins that have all never came back.

Yeah, I have heard zilch about fresh accounts and the classic default skins. You’d think info like that would’ve trickled out to the community by now 
Yeah. My question stems from the initial statements from the Overwatch team years ago.
They said something along the lines of people who play via the OW2 client will have the Overwatch 2 default skins, whilst those who have OW1 will be unable to use the default OW2 skins. The implication of that is that OW2 would only have the OW2 skins as their default.
(was just wondering if new accounts would have access to some of the superior default skins or not, but other than that it isn’t really important)
Good question. I’m guessing they just remove them. The original intent was to have OW1 alongside OW2. The people playing OW1 would be able to see, but not use, OW2 models.
At that time it seemed more to me that it was an incentive to upgrade to OW2 (back when we thought it was paid) , so the OW2 skins would be added on.
Who knows now though.
Time to sell my exclusive OW1 classic skins for $$$$$ on the black market lol
Lol… if the game manages to be a success. I had hope for PvE giving OW2 a fighting chance, but after reading that they are releasing episodic pieces of the PvE experience, likely paid in chunks, my hope for that is long gone.

Yeah true. I don’t know, the communication has just been so terrible.
Like I spent my OW1 credits on garbage stuff I would never use because it was said they wouldn’t be able to buy new stuff with them. And then a few days later it comes out that we apparently can buy $$ stuff with coins.
