I vividly remember getting Venture’s “Excavation Annihilation” achievement on Blizzard World in FFA a couple weeks ago. This surprised me, since in OW1 you couldn’t get achievements in FFA. So I decided to go for Widow’s “Smooth As Silk” achievement yesterday, and killed a Mei in midair with a headshot after grapple jumping, but it didn’t work. Today, I stood on the jump pad on Petra and hit 3 fatal headshots, but still no achievement. Did Blizzard change it so you can no longer get achievements in FFA?
I dunno about getting achievements in FFA. However, I believe you misunderstood what is the requirement for “Smooth As Silk”
Widowmaker needs to be literally airborne at the moment she kills someone with a headshot. That means she must not be standing on anything.
I think I remember someone on the forum admitting that he got the achievement by accident: His Widowmaker was standing on the payload or some minor elevation, then someone knocked Widowmaker off the payload and he got the headshot just as Widowmaker was falling off (airborne).

I was definitely airborne all those times. Unless jump pad jumps don’t count as “airborne”, which I don’t see why they wouldn’t.
I’m gonna say yes. Are you playing it in Arcade?
FFA was recently removed from the Unranked/QP mode select menu, so I’d be inclined to say it’s no longer a qualified mode for achievements.
