Are Sojourn skins too safe?

Sojourn skins are mostly bland in overall, it feels like the designers are playing too safe by not letting Sojourn dress anything fancy, cute, girly or sexy.

Doomfist & Baptiste get funky skins, but not Sojourn.

Old characters like Sigma & Torbjorn get beach skins, even Roadhog gets a Lifeguard skin. But Sojourn gets no beach skin.

Illari is allowed to wear a skirt, dressing cute & girly like the Cat Girl and school girl skin.

Sojourn is a serious character, but somehow serious characters like Hanzo & Reaper are given with Valentine-themed skins.

she doesnt have much skins does she. i do like that tuxedo one she has but yea i hardly play her so i dont have it. she is a bland hero, the only thing sojourn is…

is overpowered and good if you get good at her gameplay wise. maybe that is good enough.

now she is attractive actually but something about that hero screams “i am boring”

also… if you think about it she is the most “cyberpunkish” hero since she is almost fully synthetic. even her eyes are synthetic? she’s more robot than the rest of the hero squad that is supposedly full human… or are they :man_shrugging:

Bland skins for a bland hero does seem appropriate.

also didnt she have a full novel or something. an actual book, i never bought that either. maybe i should have but i havnt read an actual book since the 90s i think lol. i did use to like fantasy books like dungeons and dragons ones or drizzt novels

Because there is, Severe, and then Serious

and too Severe can look funny at times xD

As for the former Captain of Overwatch… I don’t know. I’d say she is more on the Classy side

Just like Ana.
And of course Ana can get a free pass every now and then.
But only because she is mostly retired

Sojourn in the other hand, she is like that stereotype of the Return of the hero

I think that the problem with Sojourn is that she doesn’t really have a personality aside from serious. So all her skins are basically based on jobs.

The girlies keep inviting her to cosplay cons, but the only show her mom let her watch was Rescue Heroes.

Yeah, I’ve noticed heroes can be pretty hit or miss. Mauga is pretty unique, but sojourn is just work work work.

Kind of a reflection on society how we elevate certain personalities like this over others. Sojourn has a duty and dedication to saving others which is remarkable in its own right, but instead of seeing that people look to the need for someone to stand out more.

Be boisterous and loud be it visually or vocally. The reason S76 gets away with being pretty much the same is that he’s the grumpy old man stereotype (Young punks get off my lawn).

It’s not society, it’s the game. Sojourn could be a great character in a more story-driven game, but Overwatch is all skins and voice lines. It’s much easier for memes to stick in player’s heads, since that’s mainly how this game communicates.

She’s meant to be the face of OW2 PVE.

But since PVE is cancelled, she serves no purpose but a railgun DPS, Canadian hero and black female symbol.

‘Duty and dedication to saving others’ is all the good guy heroes but they also have fun personalities on top of that.

she is 51 actually, a year older than me. i would go out with her in a heartbeat but yea its fantasy anyways. i dont think there are cyborg girls out there nowadays especially ones that would want to date me hehe

anyways there was that age controversy with her as well. i think originally they had her at 41 but something about a pregnacy in the book would have made her have a kid in her teens or something… so they had to increase her age

lore mistakes as usual, they either have to many writers that dont check on stuff or just make weird inconsitency mistakes like kirikos age compared to genji/hanzo
