In the Italian dubbing (my language) I noticed that the two voice actress are the same person.
Theory: Echo is the result of a transposition of the doctor’s memory who may have died during an accident (audible in the most recent teaser). this would explain the previous message about wanting to understand the life of pure artificial intelligence.
Good find! I compared Liao’s and Echo’s French voices and they sound the same too (though I’m not 100% sure).

But how would that prove that an artificial mind has just as much value as a human mind if it’s just a human mind in a robot body?

perhaps the transfer could prove the existence of a connection that goes far beyond mere intelligence to start feeling alive (theme very pertinent to the videogame Detroit: become human)
What does that even mean LOL
I don’t understand your point. What thing in Detroit? May you show me it?
There’s a video game called Detroit: Become Human where humans created lifelike androids (robots) and treated them as their slaves basiclly so the robots got angry and started a revolution
Imo the first message teaser just explains why when she dies (explosion in the second teaser) she can be brought back as Echo.
Similarly to the film Transcendence, her researches on artificial consciousness led her to digitalise her mind to compare it with artificial intelligences; then someone uses it to bring her back after her death. Of course it’s a mere copy and does not feature the whole complexity of her human mind, hence the name Echo.

Oooh! I love it already!
How old is Transcendence?
(By the way, the name sounds so much like Zenyatta ult)
Spoiler to detroit become human game.
I have played DBH and the main theme is the ai robots that meant to serve human kind , in some point of the story , the ai robots has change during there time.
In some point of the game those robots had change to the next level of AI that make them feel emoitions, sad , happy , they can hear music and enjoy it.
so what he mean , mabye Liao made a robot that actually make it to feel , as simllar to the human kind. or someting that fact make this robot beyond what omnic knon this time.

It was released in 2014 with Johnny Depp in the main role. I would say it’s not bad film, but not great either.
The only thing that transferring a human mind/consciousness/soul into a robot body would prove is that it’s possible to put a human into a robot.
The first teaser showed that Dr. Mina Liao wanted to prove that artificial life was equivalent to human life - you don’t prove that by replacing it.
But accident happend. Without Mina Liao there isn’t point to have - I guess - Echo. So they transfered Liao’s mind to Echo’s body so Mina can still be alive and Echo’s body won’t be useless. So Mina Liao as Echo now had been working with Jesse McCree up to the explosion of Overwatch Swiss HQ. US Army found Echo, stated she’s dangerous and closed her in egg. 5 years later Jesse McCree rescued Echo from Deadlock for Overwatch.
That is possible.
And why wouldn’t Echo already have an AI when Liao built her? I don’t think Liao would just have empty robot bodies lying around.
I’m personally not a fan of these theories that Echo is Liao’s downloaded consciousness or anything like that. At absolute best, I would agree that Liao designed Echo using herself as her inspiration or blueprint, but still designed her to be a unique person rather than just Liao 2.

Tru, they sounded different because its a robot speaking but they didn’t put in the effort on the rest lol
I think Mina almost done her Echo and the rest of scientists couldn’t repeat her success so they wanted to bring Mina to life in Echo than having Mina dead and useless Echo which nobody know how to operate.
