Are DM’s reportable?

I just got done with this game on Xbox, and I was messaged by 2 people being super toxic, and basically said I was the cause we lost, but when I watched the replay, they had their share of bad moments, but I was to blame. And I was in my own party chat and they were in their own, I checked Team chat for 3 minutes no one was in it so…always blame the Symmetra right guys?

Sorry to not clarify its Xbox dm’s so idk if it’s different

If it’s outside of the game then I don’t know.

Blizzard doesn’t do anything about Xbox DM’s but you can just report them on Xbox Live instead.

Thanks! Makes sense since its not their platform. The messages are so bad, and It makes me wonder if these people are actually sane…

Sigh Most people on Xbox are insane anyways.

I do not play on Xbox, what does DM stand for?

Dm means direct message, a lot of social media/gaming networks use DM or PM “private messaging”

I dont play on xbox but on PC u can click [Widnows button] + [g] and it will open xbox app, I only use it to record my gameplay and dont use DM

In social media it means ‘Direct Message’

Oh I see, thank you for telling me.

So you can just message random people on Xbox? I am not really a social media guy so I don’t know how it works.

Yes pretty much. You can click on their OW profile, view gamecard and send message

That does seem a bit concerning to me.

It also reminds me of that one tony hawk game that can crash your console by sending messages to random players.

Seesh that sounds like a nightmare! Imagine sending messages to only crash your game 0.0

On xbox u have same nick in game and in xbox live (probably) so you can message them. It works like private chats on Discord or SMS

It was very annoying, you only needed to receive the message not open it. It was caused by typing a long message of brackets using a plugged in keyboard. Which could bypass the character limit.

I belive it was Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 that had this.

Oh that is interesting, is there an option not to recive random messages?

Block someone who sends them or dont answer for them. I dont know if there is way to block them totally.

I feel an option like that would be nice though. I could imagine a lot of angry players using it to harass people for bad games.

If someone tells you that you are playing badly, then in my opinion, that does not deserve a report. What exactly did they say?

If the message was sent through the Microsoft network, you can contact Microsoft.
