The funny thing is those teen rager try hards who make fun of peoples borders always have like 10 different accounts. You add up all the time on those accounts they’re gold border too if not higher. Also the way mmr is designed in overwatch, it actually is harder to climb on accounts with a lot of play time. This was confirmed by Scott Mercer in a dev post on the old forums. He said the more play time you have the more certain the system is of your mmr, meaning its a lot more difficult to raise your mmr which is the system that decides who your team mates will be. So an account that’s been in gold for a long time, even if they player improves to platinum level, their mmr is engraved in gold and you will never get team mates better than gold unless you go on huge winning streaks.
This is why people buy new accounts all the time. After a certain amount of play time it’s not your skill that becomes hard stuck, it’s your MMR.

yea i buy skins and have a ton for widow. gave enough money to blizzard already (with WoW too) so im not gonna get another account to reset my mmr. quit on ranked too so im having fun just playing quick play

In what way does it “boost sales”? OW2 PVP is free if you own OW1 (and there’s speculation it will be free for everyone).

I’m max border and “technically” in Plat. Of my 3.5k hours-ish played, only 100 or so are from doing comp and that’s when I was a bronze border. I mained Symmetra back then (Ana main now) and I definitely consider myself a good player, not in an egotistical way, just based on observation and experience from playing the game for so long Anyway, the toxicity was simply too much for me so I never really developed a liking for it. So yea, it’s entirely possible for someone to be good at the game and not wana deal with toxic people in comp lol.
I’ve seen several gold border+ players who are gold and below, my guess is that they probably don’t care about comp.
I believe so. Gold here, been accused, and reported for deranking, but I just don’t care for climbing. No incentive besides “pride and accomplishment.”
