Are Autosplitters for LiveSplit allowed in Overwatch?

It seems like a pretty roundabout way of accomplishing it even for that, though. If your goal is to avoid the need to push a button, why not edit the workshop mode to automatically record your time at that checkpoint? That takes significantly less technical knowledge than directly accessing application memory, and doesn’t involve using a “hack.”

That is actually very doable! If you check this Hammond Racing mode W24N4 - you can see that the creator did just that. Problem is not every creator does that, or straight up just doesn’t want to. And tbh I have no idea how to do that.

Also, there’s no way to save your progress in workshop modes. You always restart from scratch. With livesplit, you can save your times, and it just has so much detail with possible time saves and sum of best, etc.

Anticheat may catch it. But if it’s a solo workshop map then it might be allowed

The workshop is visual scripting and comes with pretty decent built-in guidance. I’m confident that if you were willing and able to apply a RAM hack to track it, you can figure out how to add a trigger in Workshop. As you mentioned, you even have a working example of how to do it with that racing mode.

But yes, you would have to manually record your times at the end of a play session.

100% sure you would lose your OW game license for doing this. In short yes you will get banned.

Yeah that’s why I made this thread in hopes that someone at Blizzard would respond : P

Any kind of 3rd party automation is not allowed.

Blizzard has already made a statement regarding 3rd party programs when the stat tracking tools were taken down. Macros have been forbidden from day 1. They are likely not going to address every new one on a case by case basis.

Blizzard is completly anti 3rd party software

even if that same software is actually doing what they dont, proving stats to players

nope, cant have that,

True.

Well I guess they won’t say anything about livesplit then.

RIP the dream.

I’ll give you an actual solution.

How about you code the time-splitting directly into the mode itself with Workshop? You could save each segment’s time to a different index in an array.

But for arcade modes… absolutely not.

I have absolutely no idea how to even prepare to think about coding that. No experience with coding at all.
