They obviously work hard onto making Archives real good but will they learn from their last mistakes? A big point is replayability.
I played Retribution twice and already knew mostly how it turns out since it’s pretty much the same thing.
Also I suspect the missio (if there’s one) will take place either in Paris or a new map which will be released later.
I really hope they don’t recycle the archives event. The other events recently have just been recycles with new skins, a few emotes, a single highlight intro and some sprays/voice lines.
I really want a new PvE mode on the new map.
It’ll probably release concurrently with the new hero and have something to do with them. Possibly a Talon focus
I doubt they’ll make big inroads on the “replayability” factor
I’m pretty sure they’ve said somewhere they working on new stuff for Archives so I wouldn’t worry about that.

Anyway, I’m not having a lot of expectations. I just hope there’s at least something new.
I am hoping it’s the mission where Torb lost his hand, I think it was called Whitedome.
However the paris mission may also be some new lore that will be revealed.
I think the mode itself will be great as always but I bet there will be no improvements from the last time.
I wish they at least make it perm and also lock the difficulty levels until completed the previous one.
Yea, Archive missions need to be permanent. It can just be a selection on the main menu.
With 3, I’m hopeful they’ll have enough starter content to start branching out in a PvE play setting.
The Blackwatch event gave a real L4D vibe to it, and I think the game could absolutely go in that direction with PvE… Or heck, maybe even PvP style of it too for laughs and kicks.

At this point? I expect a handful of skins that’re decent, if that, and a re-hash of previous years’ Archive Events with nothing else new.

Archives has literally been the only consistently good event that was improved on each year.
We only had two so far, but Retribution was a step above Uprising.
Jeff already said they have something near ready and to “act surprised”.
I wouldn’t worry about Archives. That’s the one thing I trust they’ll do well.
I’d have to agree with this.
A self enclosed mini story with PvE elements pretty much guarantees that anyone with half a brain will start noticing patterns in their second and third playthroughs. The only thing they can maybe do is randomize the bosses and spawn locations/times. Other than that, I don’t see it being very different from the first 2 iterations of archives aside from starring heroes and location.
Still super excited for it tho. I’m a much bigger fan of PvE than I am of PvP so archives is easily my favourite event, second only to Junkenstein’s.
Talon Moira I known she has Blackwatch which is one of her best skins. But this is a lore event which take places from the past and the future and I saw a YouTube video break down that the new map may be the next Archives event. Something like kidnapping Widow and brainwashing her into Widow. So I think Moira, Doom, Sombra may take part in this Talon event. And this may see how Reaper joins Talon as well.
