We know that its already been confirmed that Archives 2020 will not include a new game mode due to OW2 but I wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts on it.
For the skins, who do you think will be getting them? Following the four legendary and three epic pattern we’ve been getting lately.
And lastly, do you think Blizzard may reveal something regarding OW2? They said they were going quiet after Blizzcon but didn’t say for how long and as Archives is a lore based event, perhaps Blizzard could show something (like a teaser of sorts).
Probably get skins is my thought. I don’t really see why not.
I think they’ll definitely reveal stuff leading up to OW2. I think the main reason they didn’t show hero redesigns was to leak them sequentially to build hype. I’d expect a few hero teases as it draws near the end of the year too. Maybe not full reveals but hints I think are likely.
Blizzard likes to tease stuff. A lot of people expect them to just shut up and show up one day with OW2 ready to go, but that sounds very unlike them.
Archives is a great time for supplementary content that reveals new characters and stuff. Even if we don’t get a mission that could come in the form of a comic or something.
It’s meant to be coming before anniversary this year, so I’m hoping to see it within a month or two, round about where (hopefully) the new hero may start getting teased/released.
My best guess as for who it would be is Echo, given the timing. She also ties in with OW2 without being one of the heroes Jeff saying would be launching with it.
So, C’mon Jeff, two birds with one stone, yeah? People will look over no new PVE if we have a new hero and cool as cosmetics to enjoy.
As for skins, we’re overdue an insight to Zenyatta and Dvas past, as well as the Junkers. Hopefully some love for them this time around.
(EDIT: Not gonna bother, some heroes are difficult to find out who hasn’t received a skin in a while)

they wont show anything just because its in game event… but keep an eye out if blizzard is present on any gaming conventions, if they are not, you wont get anything until blizzcon .
Skins dont interest me, i’ll leave that for others
My guess there will be skins, just less of them and also not that amazing. I mean look at the new year ones. Not exactly any that scream “amazing, must have!”. Seriously other than the POTG Junkrat I can’t think of a single one I’d care to use.
Never mind how bright and colorful they are you’d stand out like a target to snipers with most of them.
I guessing that there will be just skins. Its kind of disapointing, but they propably gona do nothing for archives, after all it alredy have 3 modes, and it could be as “enaught” for an event in overwatch standarts…
Not like i would not want them to do something, but its feels like there will not be much done for that event.
Honestly if they do anything it will be even lazier than Storm Rising and that was already a pretty badly designed and recycled asset flip. If we get anything at all it probably be more like Junkenstiens revenge. One small map with waves of enemies so they don’t have to really do anything.
All of the previous Archives menu screens switching randomly. Uprising menu song is the best.

For skins, Savior Doom. Not Scourge, because he had the gauntlet on his other hand. Hammond skin with his escape pod being Wrecking Ball. Reaper and Moira to have Talon field suits.
well it’s quite understandable that there will not be a game mode this year because Game development is pretty difficult especially now that they have a new project to create. Although I don’t like how there won’t be a new mode I consider Archives to still be a good event.
In terms of skins, there will definitely be skins for 2 reasons.

Since BlizzCon 2019 we still have been receiving new skins just no new events. Except for Capture the Flag Blitz But this is a mode just edited.
But just be aware I’m sure a lot of people will not be happy about a new mode not coming, but I mean we want Overwatch 2 and to not receive a new event this year to see more Overwatch lore in the future is worth the while!

Shooting star D.va (with the cap & jacket)
Armorless/tanktop Reinhardt
Possibly also blue overwatch uniforms for Winston, Genji and Reaper (though that’s asuming they ever wore uniforms in that style).

The two “Ops” Baptiste skins are from the Caribbean Coalition. I guess, they left out the healthpack to not be too disruptive.
De Kuiper is the Scientist skin from the Origin Story made to fit his hitbox.
I think our best bet is to look at characters who don’t have skins from that event yet. That brings us to characters like Junkrat, Roadhog, Ana, Sym, Zen, Brig, etc.
