As I’ve suggested several times, they should change arcade to use checkboxes on the cards like they do for role-select, then have a queue button, and allow you to queue for multiple arcade modes at once.
There are people in arcade (not many) and you just don’t know which queue they are in. Pick the wrong mode and you are sitting there for 30 mins when another mode might have got you a game in a couple of minutes. No way to know.
DW, we need 5v5, 6v6 OQ, comp 5v5, comp 6v6, Stadium 5v5, comp Stadium 5v5, seasonal modes (that you have to play if you want the rewards), Customs, practice ranges, and the PVE.
Why would the playerbase be split?
The idea that you can even play CTF or Low Gravity floors me.
They either don’t care or their parent company does not care enough to provide them the resources to work on it, I guess. It’s sad and dumb. I would say remove it but I don’t love the mode.
I loved CTF in WoW, but OW players displayed to me they care so little for objectives and teamwork that I’ve never really found it to be a fun experience in this game.
I’ve stated this before, but the OW devs are the absolute kings of self fulfilling prophecies. Their efforts seem to be driven by raw stats, and it often feels like they end up in this perpetual loop of “people dont play this game mode, so we’re not allocating any resources to maintain it or make it playable” and that ends up resulting in the balance changes in the main mode massively degrading the experience, and then less people play. Then loop and repeat: The game mode has fewer players, so they treat this as people not wanting to play it, and spend even less effort, etc etc.
Basically anything that isn’t 5v5 QP/RQ seems to decay over time and then the devs use those stats to justify that nobody wants it, even though the real reason people don’t play it is because it’s just been neglected for so long that it’s an unplayable experience.
Arcade was popular when it gave you lootboxes for playing them. With that removal and the addition of Stadium and 6v6, arcade exists as a time killer for most people. People have newer modes they like now.
Yep, I’ve suggested that too. When I play arcade I’m usually just doing it to take a break from the regular modes. I might have a preferred arcade mode I want to play, but at the end of the day I’m not that bothered and if I could queue for multiple modes at once I pretty much always would.
