Arcade - No Limits and Quick Play Classic

For those of you who play in either of those modes, and I know it’s not the entire population, but why do you queue for these with the intentions on playing 2-2-2?

I can sorta, maybe see why in QP classic, but No Limits?

If you want to play the whole 2-2-2 bit, why not just play in regular QP? Some of us play in Arcade to get away from that nonsense.

It’s not really that big of a deal, I’m just curious why people play arcade just to end up playing 2-2-2 anyway.

Options.

On round 1 we were on 2-2-2 enemy was on 1-3-2.

On the second round enemy went 2-2-2 and were basically pwning us. So we went from 2-2-2 to 1-3-2 and won. Mainly because one of our tanks also happens to be a tankbuster  They went double shield, i went shieldbreaker

2-2-2 is not the best comp, it’s just one of many that can vary depending on map and hero composition. And players hero pools aren’t just restricted to a single role, even a DPS main has atleast one tank and a couple of healers in their roster they can switch to and use reliably. Rather than complain about your DPS sucking, go DPS yourself.

You have options, if the map comes up and you find that you’ll do better on this map on a hero that’s different than you were planning to use, then use that hero. Adapt.

???

What are you going on about?
Your response really didn’t answer my question at all. Nobody is complaining about dps or anything. I am simply asking why play arcade just to play the 2-2-2 that you’re forced to play in reg QP.

Did you read it??

Yes. Did you read my post? We have options, we aren’t locked into a single role. If you think you can do better on a different role, then switch.

If your tank is underperforming and you can do better, go tank. We don’t go in a random game expecting to get a 2-2-2, we just play what we want. And 2-2-2 just happens to be one of many team compositions we can use.

As i’ve shown, enemy was a 1-3-2 who then adapted to 2-2-2, and we were a 2-2-2 who countered their comp by going 1-3-2. It’s not even uncommon for a team to start on 2-2-2 and end the match also on 2-2-2 but the teammates switching roles mid game, something you can no longer do in QP.

Okay, you are still not understanding what it is I am asking.

I am asking why, in ARCADE, you choose to play 2-2-2.

Has nothing at all to do with what I’m asking. It’s not about being better on a different role. I am asking why you choose to conform to this instead of the chaos that No Limits is supposed to be?

GET IT?

Cuz ppl want to win.

Yis arcade can be relaxing and for entertainment, though that doesn’t mean we can’t tryhard. (Trying to win isn’t directly tryharding either if i’m correct)

I play mostly QP classic. My intention is not to play in 2-2-2 team comp, but I will play a Tank or Support. Sometimes my teammates lock the rest of heroes and it turns out to be 2-2-2, idk if reason for that is because I picked main Tank or not.

I never demand from teammates what to play, don’t care about it. If I want more organized format I’ll go to Role QP.

In my experience during daytime is 4 DPS or more per team, later at night players gravitate more towards 2-2-2 team

No i don’t. I already told you, we have options. 2-2-2, 1-3-2, 1-4-1, 2-4-0, whatever works. The whole point of QPC is that there are no restrictions. You people in QP are the ones that chose to cripple your choices. We went to QPC because we wanted more options.

How about this then.

We are flex players that stopped playing QP when they implemented role lock.

Is that good enough for you?

Probably because you picked tank. This was taken back before QP had role lock.

Contrary to popular belief Quickplayers didn’t just go on suicide sprees and raced to the bottom. Far from selfish, just show them that there’s a chance of winning and they’ll instantly bend over backwards to accomodate the team. In that clip i was going to practice Mei, but hey, it’s route66, i can tank here no problem. And the DPS suddenly switched to supports when they realized they had a main tank. I didn’t say anything, i didn’t ask, i certainly didn’t beg. They did it on their own.

These same people are now in QPC. Maybe not everyone in QPC are flexers, but there’s certainly enough of us that moved from QP to make a difference.

I don’t want no limits for crazy team comps. I want no limits so that I am guaranteed to be able to play who I want.

I actually moved to classic QP because I was so tired of fighting 6 torbs, or 2 Mercies and 4 Bastions, or 4 D.vas, or whatever. I don’t want 2-2-2, or else I’d play that mode. Yes you could beat all those comps, but it involves picking a particular hero and that just isn’t fun. I want options, so that I can play whatever role I need or want (3 healers is actually OP in a lot of matches, even with no tanks). Surprisingly, Quick Play classic often has more good options than no limits.

^ This. I’ve been going QP Classic and picking support to win my 9 games for the stupid challenge.

Normally I would go there and one trick Tracer. But when winning is a factor … yeah, that’s the best way to win.

Basically, the people you’re complaining about are using the casual feel of QP Classic / No Limits to their advantage to secure faster wins. 2-2-2 will win against the typical Widow, Hanzo, Genji, Tracer, Ashe, and McCree that’s in QP Classic.

There’s no limit to how much you want to control how other players pick heroes?

As the first dude said.

Some people don’t really mind 2-2-2. If you win using it, good.
But if you are on 2-2-2 and you are losing, you can change to anything you want to try another thing.

More options. That’s why.

Right, that’s why i said I more-so understand the 2-2-2 bit in QP Classic, but No Limits is a different story.

The freedom of being able to swap and handle something that your other teammates can’t is nice. I am not against this. I don’t know why this other person is coming off super aggressive about it, but whatever. lol

Even when No Limits is up you still have the option of playing QP Classic though, so why play 2-2-2 in No Limits when you have another choice? The queue times aren’t any faster.

Anyway, it just boggles my mind that people want to play 2-2-2 in Arcade (moreso No Limits) when the people who want to escape that don’t have very many options outside of going to some custom game.

no need to get all defensive over it. it’s just a question.

I suppose that people start a No Limits match with the intention of just playing a meme comp, but then they just want to win and well… 2-2-2 happens.

I stopped playing No limits short after it returned as an arcade mode because the match almost always gravitated around normal comps.

It’s a fun mode to play with two or three friends if all you want to do is meme comps and you don’t mind losing for it.

wait does that bastion skin have unique sound to it? :open_mouth:

Yeah, it sounds like he’s made of plastic blocks and foam darts, and his gun is like falling dominos

Because 2-2-2 is a good balance?

People also might want 2-2-2 but don’t want to wait in the long queue. Also they have the flexibility of changing mid-match if they want 3 dps or something.

t-t-that’s amazing! :open_mouth:
i love when the devs does these small insignificant things.

I usually don’t, but 2-2-2 setups tend to win against hero spam in no limits.

As a filthy tryhard, I will switch to 2-2-2 if it’ll give my team a shot at winning.

If it’s not so big of a deal then why make a ridiculous post about it & ask kinda dumb question about it?

People can & are allowed to play what ever they want regardless of what heroes they play & regardless of what mode it is. Either you like it or not.

You dont make the rules of who plays what, etc here.
