i am just wondering what his story will be
surfer enthusiast?
marine biologist?
maybe a talon guy? … would be strange
just a boy with water powers and trained as a monk or something?

I’m thinking some type of painter (people say his staff could be a brush) monk that has finished his isolated training and is now going out into the world to explore and study it while helping people. Surfers can be fun personalities, but I feel his design is a bit too classy for that. Could be a neat hobby he develops though once he gets out there in the world though.
Son of the rival corporation of Vishkar out of Lijiang using/testing new hydromancy tech.
Friends with whales and dolphins.
The season is halfway over.
Well, I don’t know what to expect since they claim there’s been “nothing like” his weapon/ability set in any other game, and that he effects the stage somehow.
I think it would be kind of cool if he can make the stages slippery, and people are falling all over the place, lol.
I dont think I could ever look forward to another Overwatch hero again. Maybe if they actually took the ban data seriously, but even then that wont show results until at least a year post bans, as hero development is something that is planned out FAR into the future.
Every new hero released gives me a new reason to not look forward to queuing. Freja STILL hasnt been fixed, Hazard is a literal mutant with a design so BS and talentless he ruins any game he gets even a single kill in, Kiri is insanely over tuned to make up for how largely useless her kit is in terms of proactive utility and no support should ever be doing the kind of damage she does with as little risk as she does, and any time sojourns rail is anything other than gutted she completely invalidates Soldier and is essentially just a better Widow with none of the downsides.
The Overwatch 2 roster genuinely makes this game such a joke, and if I could never see a single one of them again I wouldnt be sad.
She’s on the far lower end.
Like, nearly similar to Brigitte’s and Moira’s damage range.
What do we want?
FEMBOY SUPPORT!
When do we want it?
TUESDAY!
I never really took anything you said seriously, ever since you tried saying Ashe was a sustained damage dealer and not a burst one, but this take the cake.
That you have 11k worth of posts here and dont understand how hilarious comparing Kiri’s damage to Brig and Moira’s is? Christ dude.
Hey real quick, tell me which character between the three can do 120 damage in a single shot? Which can do 240 in 2?
Comparing Brig and Moira to THE SINGULAR BEST DUELIST IN THE GAME is so disgusting, and what metric are you trying to use, damage per 10?
Even if they were all exactly the same, ignoring the context of how and why each hero is doing the damage they do is just incredible work. How fast they can do that damage, at what range, with how much risk to themselves, and how often does that damage translate into a kill?
Just compare the solo kills between the 3 and youll find why youre out of your mind comparing these 3. They are not the same, they do not do the same things with their damage.
Like please dear god until you can understand that Ashe is a burst hero just dont speak to me, especially about something as complex as how Kiri is probably the worst designed support this game has.
Brigitte does 45 + 70 + 50 for 165 damage.
Moira does 65 + 50 for 115 damage per second.
I didn’t say that Kiriko was below them, I said within the same damage range. Since Kiriko has no offensive options, all she can do is toss 60 damage kunai, hope for a critical hit, and try to land successive ones.
Moira does 65 damage per second on a very generous hitbox with no ammo cost. Can raise this with Biotic Orb to 115.
Brigitte does 75 damage per second with Rocket Flail, costs no ammo, but requires the target to be within 6 meters. Can burst damage up to 165 in about a second.
Kiriko’s damage per second is 120 damage per second, with 60 damage kunai. Unlike the other two above, she cannot launch additional offensive options, but she can critically hit.
Like I said before, she’s within their same damage range, not below them.
Of course they don’t.
Okay, so why does Ashe have 12 ammo, and Cassidy have 6 ammo? Why does Cassidy empty his ammo clip in 3 seconds, while it takes Ashe more than double that?
Obviously critical hits are burst damage, but what are body shots?
A completely hollow character with 0 personality.
Oh but don’t worry i’m sure his pronouns or race will make up for it.
Not.
Is Roadhog
(20 characters)
hopefully something easy to use, like a lock on ability and something that can’t miss as a ability?
if we can’t have something ez you don’t have to aim Atleast make it fire and forget.
I am sick of using my brain when playing games. /s
Sweet so not one instance of damage, especially for Moira who takes not just her primary but a cooldown to reach 115 damage in a second, while Kiri takes a singular instant to do 120.
Stop being so disingenuous to act like headshots are something all anyone does on a wing and a prayer, headshots arent so insanely difficult to land, especially post S9, that you can make a serious argument on how “but landing headshots is so haaard its basically just luck!!”
She isnt even close to being the same effective range as Brig, and even out spaces Moira by a good deal too. Just because Kiri CAN fight in those ranges like Brig and Moira doesnt mean she has no mid to long range capability, I mean she LOVES targeting Ashe, Ana, or Widow who sit in the back just scoping. Brig sure cant do that, and neither can Moira. Cree also finds it easier to land headshots the closer he is to someone, that doesnt mean he cant do it from further away.
Again youre comparing characters who both have more limited range but have to use cooldowns to get to that damage number, and both cooldowns are single use. Brig misses whipshot and suddenly for the entire length of the cooldown her DPS is locked to 75 until it comes back up.
And AGAIN again, stop pretending like “oh but headshots haaard!” is important post S9, you’re never aiming for bodyshots on Kiri, youre constantly going for the head, and while its definitely more difficult than landing bodyshots, its not so insanely hard that double dinks cant be done with some consistency inside of duels, and even if she cant, just one headshot from her is still 120 damage. As a support. Mixed with Suzu and TP theres a reason shes one of the best and most safe duelists the game has to offer. Stop trying to compare a duelist hero to supports who either suck at dueling or can only duel specific characters, and even then for Brig its mostly just stalling than winning.
How INSANE are you to think ammo count is what determines damage type??? Seriously, reason this out to me. Say we give widow 1000 ammo, is she suddenly a sustained damage character?
Ammo count has ZERO bearing on what type of damage they do, if Soldier got his mag reduced to 6 like Cree he isnt suddenly a burst hero. You look at games that have “sustained” damage dealers with higher ammo capacities and think it they must be considered sustain because of the ammo count, and not that the ammo count is what it is because they have low burst high RPM guns. This doesnt make all higher capacity mag heroes sustained. How weird is this argument???
Ashe is CAPABLE of putting out burst damage for a longer period of time than Cree, that does not mean she is a sustained damage dealer like Soldier.
We can blame the dps passive for that
Kiri and Illari existed before the DPS passive, the DPS passive did not cause more DPS bait support designs, Blizzard did that all on their own to bring more players to the role and to better align with the more brawly fighty BS 5v5 design philosophy.
That being said, the DPS passive is definitely why we see it being more and more important for supports to be trying to kill people, as there are times now where its just 100% better to just try killing someone than to bother doing your job as a support.
Which also means with more damage in the game support cooldowns have to be a bit stronger to address the 2 more heroes on a team looking to kill, which causes a wee wee fun slippery slope.
Id like to see the DPS passive removed if it meant supports got their healing and cooldowns nerfed like they shouldve been, and tanks get changes to actually be killable instead of just abusing their disgustingly overstatted role.
True but the passive did reinforce it, healing value overall is a lot weaker than when OW2 Launched. You just get more value out of DPS support now compared to pure healers
What’s the average critical hit rate of a middle-rank Kiriko? High-rank Kiriko? What’s the average accuracy of those Kiriko players?
Remember that Kiriko used to have 40 damage kunai, with a 3x critical hit modifier and that was changed because players weren’t hitting those critical hits as accurately as Blizzard wanted. Thus bringing down the skill floor.
At 90 meters per second with a fairly large-ish projectile ideal range would be around 20-25 meters. Leaning more towards 25 meters given the size, and that she’s a support. So she’ll ideally play at slightly beyond Moira’s attack range for her RMB. Healing, on the other hand, would require her to be closer to be fairly effective and attentive; so she’ll ideally play at the same range as Moira in most engagements.
Brigitte can’t, but she wasn’t really designed for that.
Most players find it easier to hit headshots the closer the target is, up to a certain point when the objective becomes larger than their screen. Which is why Tanks like Sigma don’t get with critical hits too often, as he tends to be fairly tall.
Right, what’s the average accuracy to Whipshot and Kiriko’s primary fire? Obviously, Kiriko will have far more chances to land a shot compared to Whipshot; but the burst-damage is always tuned in a such a way as to prevent it from happening too often.
Never said it wasn’t.
Echo’s kit is designed around mobility and burst damage but she was performing too well against high health targets, such as tanks. Reducing the maximum firing duration of her primary weapon and Focusing Beam will lower her sustained damage output without impacting her burst damage potential against squishier targets.
Tri-Shot
**** Ammo reduced from 15 to 12***
Focusing Beam
**** Duration reduced from 2.5 seconds to 2 seconds***
Soldier has sustained damage, but he leans towards burst-damage. This has been well established for years now.
Ashe leans towards sustained damage and pressure. Her entire kit is built around this; from BOB’s damage over time and duration, to Dynamite’s damage over time on burning, to Ashe’s long reloads. This does not mean that Ashe cannot burst.
Try to understand what the word “leans” means.
No, it doesn’t. Genji spends a large amount of time (about 7 seconds) to empty his ammo clip. But he also has a relatively slow fire rate to compensate for his 8 shots per clip.
There’s far more nuances to the designs of the heroes than just their clip sizes, or how much damage they do. Best to look at their entire kits with critical thinking analysis before making judgements.
I’m expecting even longer support queues. : (
