"April Fools Update" was the best thing last year (Fri=4/1)

It would be a real shame if they don’t do that again this Friday.

But guess we will have to keep listening to the white noise they playing.

To the point it’s becoming like beginning of a horror film, but time will tell if we are going Fyre Festival with upcoming OWL events. (reminder: OWL has no sponsors)

Anyway… what are other games you guys are enjoying…

To be fair… we should not expect any kind of EXC anytime soon, cause the major focus of the devs right now is getting the PvP Beta of OW2 done. We should expect only the googly eyes which requires no game client update.

I hope we get 16m beam Sym and tank Mei again. Sprinting Orisa was fun as well.

As far as other games go, I finally started Elden Ring this week. I haven’t got all that far yet, but I’m really digging it so far. Probably to no-one’s surprise. I’ve also been trying to recover all my progress in Darkest Dungeon 2 since my nephew accidentally wiped my level 50+ profile, but I haven’t made much headway - the game really needs a fast mode, since battles take twice as long due to my team throwing each other compliments after every. single. action.

Maybe we’ll get April Fool’s 2021 v2.0 at least - the same patch, just with some of the crazier stuff toned down a bit. I’d be happy with that.

Beta is at the end of April last I checked.

And this would be a good time for the return of Support Sym

Anyway… need to focus on cooking bacon. :bacon:

Yeah, but the beta build isn’t done yet. They updated the Alpha the last time on March 25th with probably again some fixes and changes. They have around 2 weeks left before they need to lock the beta build for QA testing. This means:

  • getting feedback from the Alpha players
  • reviewing & updating stats for the heroes
  • fixing bugs
  • QA testing the locked build before it goes live

I know I sound harsh but I kinda try to manage my expectations and the latest record shows that we should expect nothing big for the 1st April.

Well, anything that suits my daydreams the best, like fantasy games (Tales of Arise was my most recent one).
And recently I got Frostpunk.

I guarantee I am mentaly fine.

Anyway, all I want is the clown part of these changes to NOT go live. Until then, go ahead with Moira stuff.

Wouldn’t be surprise if it’s just what we saw last year. (With just the new hero reworks.)

Which isn’t really alot for a year.

Maybe they could surprise us with a new hero hint.

We need it.

Still can’t get over the fact they used Babymetal music in the trailers omg

A beta that doesn’t guarantee all players will get access to it so it’s kinda unfair to the unlucky ones.

There should be something for regular OW1 players either on April Fools Day or during Archives (or even an Experimental Card).

Oh there is a lot in store for sure. The first beta is the first big public test to see how PC’s interact with the upgraded engine, how the updated matchmaking works, etc. it’s kinda more a stresstest than a real Content Beta.

Throughout the OWL seasons and tournament new stuff such as maps, heroes or even other features will be added according to the OWL Community update. The reason is that they want to give the pros some time to practice heroes and maps. This means instead of a big content drop we will get smaller pieces throughout Season 5 of OWL. (Monthly beta updates)

I know. What I mentioned in the other comment is that probably during the kick off of Season 5 of the OWL they will open the doors for more people. We will probably still get the annual seasonal events but with less content. I’m pretty sure each week the devs will invite more and more players before we have a public beta.

Not sure about that…

Just because History Repeats.

I don’t see how this is related. You mean we will have to watch OWL streams to get a key to playing the beta or something ? Oh and thanks for letting me know it’s season 5 of OWL. I thought they had more seasons. Didn’t it start when the game was first released ? Were there breaks (pandemic not included) ?

Is that even possible ? I mean they already removed 2CP for good. And we’re still supossed to be in a year where more skins are to be released than we were accustomed to… (unless they meant more pricey OWL skins…).

These forums are gonna get even more chaotic. Rants are gonna get to a whole new level. Get the popcorn ready…

Edit : I can only imagine the frustration when people smurfing get a beta pass on many accounts while someone with one account only will get none ^^'…

Forums have gotten super toxic lately.

Just look at top discussions for the day.

It’s no surprise though after that 45 min video weeks ago of barely anything.

No, but after 1 week of the first Closed Beta + the kick off of Season 5 it would be a good idea to let more people in, cause at this point the interest in the beta will be really high!

There will be probably less Seasonal Event content this year, cause the OW 2.0 patch will probably arrive around Q3 / Q4 2022. This means we could expect a lot of new content and probably the new business model of OW.

I would bet OW2 will actually come out next year.

Likely around the end of Feb.

OW2 isn’t near as finish as we think. My latest expected release date is probably 1 year after the 2.0 Patch release. So around Summer / Fall 2023.

I never said it would release finished.

Sorry  in general we should call OW2 (PvE) and OW 2.0 separately, cause OW2 is just the DLC of OW 2.0 patch.
