This hasn’t happened to me before, so I don’t know why it is now (it’s happened twice to me as I was entering competitive). I also see this happening to a bunch of other people.
Upon joining a game, my screen will present a loading screen that just says “Applying Update”.
This has resulted in me being suspended from competitive which is quite frustrating. I haven’t seen this be addressed by Overwatch devs when viewing the list of known bugs, so I hope it’s acknoledged soon. My only theory as to why this could be happening is that viewing highlight intros upon joining a game will cause this bug to occur. I’m only assuming this because it’s only happened both times for me as I was viewing a highlight intro. If anyone can prove or disprove it would be greatly appreciated :3
