What if Supports could by default create a small AoE Healing circle around themselves as a Passive?
This would let Supports focus more on Utility while Passively Healing their Teammates.
Lucio and Brigitte’s Healing would stack, but other Support Passives won’t, e.g, having one Support, two or even 5 won’t give you more Passive Healing.
Just a random thought, might be good, but will probably be really bad because of how bad all other Balancing is.
Nah. Part of the complaint about dmg creep in OW1 was the fact that Blizzard let supports do more damage. Mercy/Lucio/Zen used to be incredibly low dmg output. Then along comes Ana/Moira/Bap/Baptiste/Kiriko. All very good heals and dmg potential due to the ability to weave in both. Easily inflated the damage output in the game.
Having supports dedicated to needing to put attention on healing and not passively generating it I think is a better move to make. The game doesnt’ need more spam.
I think that gets into issues of heal stacking mid-combat.
Unless it’s something like dealing damage giving like a lifesteal version of Brig’s Inspire, that doesn’t heal the Support player.
But it’s probably better to just give everybody an out-of-combat regen passive. And if needed, make it so that the teammates have to be within 20m range of their teammates for it to activate (which works through walls). So that Flankers can’t use it.
Why not give an out-of-combat Heal AoE limited to 5 Meters or something?
Maybe other Supports aren’t affected by it, they only have their Passive Self-Heal, so you can’t stack 5 Supports.
Well melee range is 3m. So having to stand within 5m range of a teammate would be pretty claustriphobic.
And also kinda defeats the purpose of the teammate ducking behind a wall, while the Support is up front shooting.
And 20m range is plenty to block most flanking selfheals.
Not like your teammates would stand in it and still hide behind walls asking for heals and making zero effort to come to you. Hell, people can help taxi Mercy and I see it rarely.
We can’t knock every idea because some idiot will still complain about it, despite them being trash.
