Anyone with an "eliminations per life" < 1 in comp should be banned

Mercy and Reinhardt might be the only exception. But everyone else got no excuses. Especially if they don’t switch.

So if they had a Kill to Death ratio of 10 kills to 1 death they should be banned? So that means a high K/D. Im sure you meant to say a LOW K/D. As in Less than 1 Kill per Death.

the > or < needs to face the bigger number. So your title should read

ANYONE WITH A K/D < 1 IN COMP SHOULD BE BANNED

the direction of of the > or < makes a difference. As they say in elementary school the Alligator eats the bigger number.

But realistically to your post, this game would be dead in a month as the palyer base would likely drop by 60-70%

I just fixed it, lol.

And no, that’s not true.
Even if you do some trash damage to someone, you get the elim. Again, no excuses.
I get up to 8 elim per life and you’re going to tell me that’s too much to wait for my teammates to get 1 elim per life?

Over how many games? 1 bad game gets you banned? 3? 5?

Is it lifetime average? When does it reset (if it does)? What characters are grouped together? Are you pulling individual ones out entirely?

How will you prevent people from dpsing as healers to avoid being banned if their playstyle is normally more conservative and lower on the kill count?

Do you see how many disastrous flaws this idea has and why trying to control the way people play is a dead end?

There is a BIG DIFFERENCE there. The elims in this game are Assist based and are not calculated the same way they are in your Profile Window with your Heroes.

In-game Eliminations counter is all ASSIST based. You do at least 10 damage to an enemy within 5 seconds of them dying you get an elim. This is why lots of players Falsely accuse Moira of doing damage when she gets the eliminations card(s).

There is a secondary stat on most characters when hitting tab in game (not sure on console) which is the Killing Blows counter. That is true eliminations.

Then on your Profile with your Hero Stats, that also counts the stats differently and somewhat wrong as well.

This is where lots of players are looking for a scoreboard for Competitive matches. TBH, a TON of players will be barely breaking 1.5/1. Average player across the board will have a 2-1 K/D.

Its really hard to really argue who has what for a K/D when we are not receiving the right info from the game and no way to verify what other players have.

It was an exaggeration to your point of view, which is somewhat unrealistic based on the info I provided.

Okay, maybe we do an exception for like support and some tanks (like dva or orisa. Maybe they focus a lot on eating stuff and putting their shield at the right place, even then that’s super shady)
But what about dps? Do you think that’s normal for a REAPER or a MEI to get under ONE elimination per life? To spend the game coming back from spawn.

Im sure the whole Activision Blizzard is working overtime to make your suggestion a reality

It wouldn’t take any time.
I’m sure one hour would be all they need. Let’s be honest, all the company do nowaday is talk. Spending half a decade deciding stuff and when that comes out, that’s too late.
Why do you think they spend 8 months to put a competitive Open Queue? Quick Play Classic is a thing. Competitive existed BEFORE role queue.

Even games where I’m getting absolutely destroyed, spawn camped, I usually have at least 1:1 k/d. I think Mercy is the only hero that isn’t going to get at least 1:1 even in a bad game.

WHAT IN THE WORLD—

I cannot disagree with you for the most part. It really matters what Skill Tier you are in, because Top Mercy players dont just heal, they end up DPSing as well in between heals to charge their ult faster. Actual Kill wise, no matter you’d be correct unless they were going full out battle mercy.

My point is that the number of exceptions youll have to make to get this system nominally functional will require an excel spreadsheet with tabs to keep track of

Glossing over how something that complicated would be an exploiter’s wet dream

Your intent is good but Its objectively a terrible idea.

Sorry, I fixed the typo.
