Honestly? Never once since he was released in OW1 have I enjoyed doom (on my team or the other team)
Havenât watched the video, but assuming youâre talking about hus first iteration, I donât much prefer that one either.
I want DF as a tank, I just donât like that they are trying to keep his high-mobility style of play.
Iâm dps doom all the way just watch it for fun if you have time , thatâs what doom meant.
He was never a tank.
Hes fun and i pretty much pick him 9 out of 10 times when im tanking, just wish they would give him some slight buffs/ expand his kit by giving more âempoweredâ qualities.
I get it. I played him just a bit, but I donât even have 25 hours on him yet.
My problem is his gameplay doesnât feel representative of his character.
One thing I always advocated for is DF being a tank, he was supposed to be originally before they changed him to dps shortly before his release. He just exudes raid boss vibes when you hear about him in the lore.
The hyper mobile playstyle worked when he was a dps, even if I believe he never should have been. But after they changed him to tank it feels like they should have gave him a more front-to-back oriented style. An imposing presence thatâs not easily ignored, instead of a guy jumping in trying to get a kill, failing, and then pissing off before he dies.
Just never ever felt right for who he is.
Maybe if their wasnât a list of buggs bigger then the bible
I prefer the og DF but ofc thatâs buried in the context of how OPEN 6v6 worked, with comps like 141 and the like. He worked as a decent âofftankâ in OPEN format 6v6.
And tbh he still plays like a hybrid tank/dps. Great in 5v5 open with someone else doing the âmainâ tanking.
Flying around as Doomfist is pretty fun. Do I prefer it over OW1 Doomfist? No
he is the most fun tank to use, but its complete trash, it feels so underwhelming to use, full charged punch and you cant kill anyone, the worst ult in the game, getting one kill is a miracle, if the enemy is not fully centered with your punch you will not even deal 50% of damage. but the few times you can do something with him it feels so good to use, and if you have good healers

I play him sometimes in qp hes aight.
No im not a big fan of throwing tbh.
No because his kit was designed to fight in the most obnoxious way possible. Constant stuns, constant movement, constant overhealth and an ultimate mostly used as a get out/escape.
Even if heâs not the strongest tank, it doesnât help that his kit serves to annoy you to death. Wrecking Ball is the same in that aspect.
No it feels like his at the mercy of supports getting antied and slept ESPECIALLY slept just sends you back to spawn and he has a big hitbox so its really free to hit.
He already has a low health pool so if the enemy has zen he goes down to like 300 effective HP just by pressing E on him.
Bring him back

Yes, although slightly less than dps doomfist. It isnt that the kit itself is less fun, it is that you have less independence due to being a tank.
Many people, myself included, donât enjoy playing alongside OW2 Doomfist because Tank Doom is not a team player, he literally only Tanks for himself with Power Block.
And on the receiving end, itâs not fun either because you are getting stunned + knocked back every 4 seconds and his ult slows your move speed by 50% for 3 seconds.
Doomfist should be moved back to the damage role, but with some notable changes to his CC & knock-backs to make playing against him feel better:

From here it would just be trying to get the numbers right.
As long as the proposed dps doom changes canât one shot. We need less one shots in the game.
