As a project manager, you should know that I cannot simply post the projects I’ve worked on (especially customer-tailored ones) online, anywhere. Not everyone works on open-source software.
But most devs get a foot in the field by having personal creations. I haven’t hired anyone yet who didn’t have anything to show.
i try to read your posts but all it says is “blah blah” i think i need glasses
I don’t know much of the development teams for blizzard. But if the overwatch team is anywhere similar to the wow development team, then there might be a shred of hope left. The reason wow has succeeded so well after 20 years or more(?) Is because they expand the lore and content.
The problem with overwatch is how lack of expansion on the content. Bugs are a thing in every game and I can forgive that but if there’s no lore behind the game, there’s no imagination to it and it feels like there’s no point in playing.
That’s why games like cod and copy paste league of legend games are slowly dying because it’s so generic. I dont want this game to fall into that category.
Fret not though the overwatch team has hired a few more employees within the past few months. Hopefully they’ll help expand the lore and prevent this game from getting stale. That includes seasonal events as well. Hopefully we’ll get an explanation on how these events have their own lore like junkenstein for example.

I’m sorry for your lack of reading comprehension.

I understand that you really like lore… but I’m not sure overwatch is the best game for that. However, there are other really amazing games with great lore. You should try out Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne.
That’s your way of hiring. Not every company works the same, though. I got hired five years ago, based on what was on my LinkedIn profile, with personal projects (should you have any) just being a plus, possibly providing an insight in the depth of one’s knowledge.
I’ve played both and loved both of them. I wish I had a chance to platinum bloodeborne though. The chalice dungeons are tough to solo through. That reminds me, so many people cry for nerfs on heroes and yet they never experienced a real challenge. XD
exactly like that, like what you just posted. Like the thread you made… You people need to get over yourselves.
And the Overwatch team needs to fix their game.

very underestimated statement.
A modded overwatch has so much potential, hell Heroes of the Storm and MOBAs in general started from map editors and mods on warcraft. Though in reality i think most of the mods people would be using would be “no clothes” mods based on the community… i mean who doesnt want a naked torb

I still haven’t bloodborne… need to borrow the ps4 of a friend to finally do it.
But yeah, most people don’t know frustration. Playing DS3 without looking up anything was one of the hardest, but also THE most rewarding experience. Learning about the lore from vaati afterwards made the whole thing even more surreal. I can’t wait for Sekiro. <3

Fair enough. But, considering your experience… do you actually think making overwatch bug-free is such an easy endeavour? Sometimes you have to accept that “perfect” is not economical. If blizzard would only work on bug-fixes, without any additional improvements to the game, then the community would go insane. It’s not feasible.
what do they need to fix exactly, please elaborate. In depth.
I never said it was easy. I said I wanted to take up the challenge and make it happen.
Given the amount of money that goes around with the OWL, I doubt economics are a limiting factor. Heck, if Blizzard wants to make the OWL work, they absolutely need the game to be good.
They’re not mutually exclusive, but they would require an expansion of the development team, as you can’t have the same people that are trying to fix the bugs work on new features.
Reinhardt, for starters. His charge is completely broken, grabbing people from every direction, and quite often not where the player is pointing. On top of that, EarthShatter is so broken right now, I don’t even know where to start on that one.
Next, is Doomfist. Again, a lot of things are broken, mostly related to hit-detection, which Blizzard has foolishly compensated for by increasing his hitboxes and adjusting the spread on his hand cannon.
Then there’s Sombra, the myriad of glitches affecting Symmetra… Do I really need to list every single one of them?
All this in mind, game balance would be the last item on my list of priority items.
