Anyone else miss Shield generator?

Ever have one of those days when your hit with a wave of nostalgia? Remembering a blissful time in the past with those rose tinted glasses? Well I am right now :sweat_smile:

I miss Symmetra’s old Shield Generator :frowning: The feeling of being mildly stronger then the enemy. The joys of hiding it and watching the enemy team spill up across the land to find it like an Easter egg hunt. No limits with 6 of them and run around as Symmetra tanks. The thrill of blowing it up and knowing in the kill feed I just made everyone on the enemy team slightly weaker. :triumph: :fist:

I don’t expect this to come back, whether it be apart of Symmetra’s kit or some other characters. But it was good having it for the time we did.

I do miss it, I think she should have it as an option on her E, but more limited in scope and with a limited duration.

40+ hr Junkrat player with at least 20 hrs of them getting that feeling :weary:

It added so much depth to her kit. You would hide it, enemies would try to find it, your team would protect it. It felt like another conflict aside from the battle itself. And my god those 75 shields HELPED.

Junkrat also just doesn’t get the same feelings anymore. :((

Ikr, I remember a time when I got sniped but I just survived on the lowest bit of health and managed to kill them. Such a rush of adrenaline for sure :joy:

I miss stacking it with Torb Armor packs. 75 Regen health ontop of sturdy armor health… Good times, fun mini-game.

Shield generator and torb armor was toxic. Imagine that and rally armor…

And there was a brief window of time after Brig was released that having Brig/Torb/Sym on the enemy team was the most frustrating thing. But for me it was great because I loved Sym (still do).

I remember watching the Hoshizora or Luminum videos for best shield gen spots and then using them, especially on Volskaya for the 2nd point, and having the enemy team accuse me of cheating on Sym (omegalul) because I was allegedly putting my shield generator inside the walls

I love Sym as she is now but I miss those sick Sym strats of olden times

Yeah i miss it and her old teleporter. I loved running off to find somewhere to hide it, or putting teleporter really flamboyant places like the ledge in laijang control center. I hate the new Sym.

It was honestly fine until rally happened. 500 health DPS was really over the top lmao she did what two heroes were meant to do together before the rally nerfs.

It really wasn’t. Dps has almost as much damage absorption as zarya without her bubbles. Especially on mobile heroes like tracer genji or doom, or snipers like widow and hanzo - they became unkillable played with minimal levels of competency
