Starting last night, OW2 has been causing my laptop to crash while in unranked role queue. When it comes back on, it’s showing that the battery is at 0% while still plugged in but was at 100% before the game started. A restart generally gets the battery % to not show as 0. I didn’t have these issues yesterday morning before the patch and I’ve seen forums stating console crashes were happening since patch so I wanted to verify here to see if others were having this problem or if I need to look at a new battery. For clarification, I have a 2 year old MSI GF65 thin 10UE.
Yes! Crash to desktop after a game or two. Latest Nvidia drivers and Windows updates installed.
I ran the latest nvidia driver update and restarted. Managed to get through 2 matches before the wife told me to unplug for V-day. I’ll do more testing later or tomorrow.
Yes! My PC has had some crashing problems in general anyway but Overwatch was the most reliable game I could play, it never crashed once! I played last night after the new update and it crashed my entire PC multiple times not matter if it was a mission or comp. Ol reliable is no more.
AMD user, crashed too just now. Never crashed before either. I got no error messages or anything, simply back to windows.
I don’t play on PC (Switch player), but I’m experiencing issues with the game crashing as well.
Turns out after another round later in the day it’s still happening. Mine is crashing the whole PC, not just to desktop so I’m likely gonna have to not play OW for a while, at least until an update comes out.
I’m in the same boat as you. The whole PC restarts. Gonna change some video settings to see if that changes anything, lower the quality of stuff but if it works, it’ll have to do until this is solved.
Edit - Didn’t do a thing, It can last a bit in game but after I spent about 15 minutes in the training room and 1 game, it crashed and restarted my PC during the second. I do have all updated drivers, windows etc. Since the season 9 update its not pretty much unplayable for a few people.
My game won’t even make it to Main Menu. I get “Connecting” screen, once saw that i got endorsement level 5, but after couple of second game freezes, gives “Overwatch has crashed in the graphics driver” error, even though game worked fine just before the S9 patch. And yes, I have latest NVidia drivers etc.
Found a solution to crashing issue: switch to Borderless Windowed mode!
Played a few games after changing and no crashes so far. Of course I would like to play fullscreen, but this will do for now until Blizz fixes their game.
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER
Borderless windowed worked for me! Turn on VSync too, makes it a lot smoother.
Yeah, in my case is the error described here: “Your rendering device was lost” error after S9 update - Technical Support - Overwatch Forums (blizzard.com)
I was able to play like 15 minutes with the driver 551.23. I have downgrade it to 546.65 and was able to play for 3 hours. Now ow does not stay running for like 1 minute.
I can’t even update my original thread because this forum requires someone to reply before me… funny…
I always play window mode since I’m on a laptop. Makes it easier to check discord between matches. The crashes are still happening at this point, just slightly less frequently.
