Anyone else finding it difficult to see the crosshair?

Does anyone else find it hard to see the crosshair in the game because of its transparency and the lack of a distinct outline?

No, I maxed out the visibility or whatever

Nope.

Idk what crosshair you are using but the default one is pretty huge and has distinct outlines as it is.

i have everything maxed out as well, but i feel like the outline is barely visible, like faint shadows, especially in some bright maps

Try changing it’s colour, mine is bright green and stands out on any map.

mine is bright green as well, right now sometimes i find it really eye tiring to focus on my crosshair.
Back in OW1, the crosshair outline used to be much more opaque, solid and visible, making the crosshair really sharp and clear to see, and I never had this kind of issue back then…

I had to change the outline thickness to 2.0 for OW2 to make the crosshair stand out.

It’s a problem of the visual clutter in the game. Had this issue in the past too, but over a long time I got used to it

im having this issue as well.
i’ve also seen some players posted this problem in the past after OW2’s release, but unfortunately its still not fixed…

you are right, but making the crosshair thicker obstructs my view and also blocks the enemies in my line of sight, especially noticeble when playing hitscans…

I had to change the colour blindness to see enemy clearly and mess with alot of things. I never had this issue in OW1 .

Whatever they did to OW2 it’s terrible. Worst sequel to ever exist and no one asked for.

Yeah, finding that sweet spot is a bit rough.

They seem to have already noticed the issue, which is why they have added “outline thickness” and “outline shift” these 2 settings many months ago.

However, they didn’t make any changes to the most crucial setting: “outline opacity”.

Increasing the outline thickness makes the crosshair thicker, but without changing the opacity, it’s still not that useful, also, I don’t think everyone wants a thicker crosshair…
As for the “outline shift” ,apart from making the crosshair color darker and harder to see, I can’t see the purpose of this setting.

Just change it? Lol what is this post

i mean they could just simply increase the maximum value of the “outline opacity” to address this issue and make it more visible, then end of story.

i appreciate the effort of adding these 2 extra settings to give us more room to customise, but these just didnt solve the problem…

Hopefully they get this fixed. With all the vibrant colors and action going on, I need my crosshair to have as much contrast as possible to assist my eyes when aiming. Having transparency in the outline kind of defeats the purpose of crosshair outline imo.

You can change the color so it is easier to see.

You can manually adjust the crosshair or reticle so that it’s more visible to you.

Dunno what you use, but they added new settings recently that helped for me - the outline thickness/shift settings

i use green dot 3.8 with outline thickness 2.3 & shift 1

yes your suggestion definitely helps a bit, however it doesnt work with the reticle crosshair, the crosshair becomes excessively large, and the outline turns into a thick, faint shadow. (because the thicker outline’s opacity is still based on the value of the “outline opacity”)
also, “outline thickness” and “outline shift” these 2 settings dont work with default crosshairs, like Hanzo’s (but “outline opacity” does.)

all we ask for is just a completely opaque, sharp and clear outline with outline thickness of 1 to add more contrast, thereby making the crosshair more visible, and at the same time does not obstruct my view and also blocks the enemies in my line of sight.

I’ve posted a detailed explanation of all the issues that I’ve found with the current crosshair system in the bug report forum, outlining why increasing the maximum value of “outline opacity” is the only viable solution to this issue.
