Im definitely going to play Comp, but only because it has a 6v6 OW2 trial

Bans are coming in season sixteen though, right? Not fifteen.
I’ll be playing the Comp 6v6 (Limit 2 Tanks) mode before bans arrive but yeah, I think hero bans (and for all ranks, too!) makes Comp more attractive.

Do ppl insta swap to pharamercy echo zarya juno when they see a junk on the enemy team?im prety sure they will ban junk even if its to keep ur teamates from playing him
The enemy swap to a flier team in response to seeing you pick Junkrat; the devs have said that the enemy team doesn’t get to see who they’re up against until after the ban phase.
You’re right in that it’s possible for weirdo teammates to band together and ban Junkrat to prevent you from playing the guy. I don’t think it’ll happen all that often but I can understand why you wouldn’t want to risk it. Here’s hoping they get around to improving the quality of QP at some point…

When i started playing i went from nearly diamond to mid silver on the backs of ppl leaving my matches as soon as they saw the pick. U can see from the forums that this player base aint playing with a full set of cards
I literally dont have fun with any other hero so why risk wasting 15 mins?

Damn, that sucks. I haven’t seen any Junk hate in recent times in my own metal games, but I don’t play the guy so I guess I’ve got the wrong impression as an observer.
I mean the hate simmered down a litle after the second mine(even tho he feels weaker now than in og classic) specially from ur own team, but god damn do the counter come quick.and why do they counter him cause he cant meaningfully interact with them, ppl clearly dont want to play against junk
If it makes you feel any better, people swap to Pharah when they can’t cut it against a projectile team. It’s not about hating Junkrat as much as taking the path of least resistance for the victory.
Characters like JQ are generally held up as being respectable, but that sure as heck doesn’t stop counters from rolling out of the enemy spawn if they start to lose.
Lose?i regularly get games where im basically useless, finaly get a kill after 2-3mins of feeding, dude swaps to phara and a support swaps to mercy
Its insane cause no hero that i can remember gets harder counters than him.perks couldve been a way to ofset that a bit but we all know how junk got treated there,50%throw range on trap…pharas bewareXD
I think Junk bans will be fairly rare because the options for dealing with Junk are already super prevalent, switching to flyers and long-range characters.
Bans are going to be saved for characters who are overtuned, those that lack proper counters (i.e. generalists) and counters to the strategy that your team wants to execute.
Will probably see bans for him at the uberlower ranks, Junks always been popular in bronze/silver. But above that, eh…
Not a risk im willing to take, i aint playing soldier or whatever cause junk was banned nor am i leaving the match(i know crybabies will do this just watch).qp is fine for me

Seems like a decent solution to your problem. You get to play the character you like and people in comp get to play with someone who has a similar mindset to them for how comp should be approached.
